2019 CCL

They should have given TFC's spot to Las Vegas Lights. Wynalda coaching thru skype would have been fun.

Edit: Woooow they look like my Sunday league team. Absolutely awful.

Just turned to it. This is ugly.

Really glad we play Toronto on the road early in the season. They are beyond abysmal.

Where’s Altidore?

Is this indicative of Vanney’s fading star? Was he successful only because of Giovinco and a high-floor roster, and not because he’s a master tactician?

Ooof...... those are nasty stats - only one shot off target with 64% possession???

Watched the Houston game in Guatemala after playing (a very generous description of what I do on the pitch these days) indoor and it was dreadful. Houston had almost no idea how to break down the Guatemalan team and couldn't execute the few ideas they had. Cabezas is supposed to be the Dynamo savior and he is completely ineffective. Tommy Mac was at least energetic when he subbed in -- most of the game there was almost no off-the-ball movement by the Dynamo. He had good moments and terrible moments, but at least you knew he was playing.

Beasley's goal off a weak clearance of a corner was an excellent strike to give them a 1-0 away win. The announcers pointed out that this game was his first international club competition since 2008 when he played Champions League with Rangers and this was his first CONCACAF international club game since 2002!

whats with all these shit takes about CCL and how its "not important and not priority" now that toronto got a beating? granted, i only want nycfc to win it someday, but if you in it....try to fucking go for it and not get embarrassed like toronto did.

How does this helps our goals to be in Copa Libertadores... If we cant even win this

they would blame the travel etc and in the end conmebol just takes that cash which is what they wanted anyway.

but seriously people blame the schedule as excuse but i dont buy that. when the CCL started like 10 years ago it started in august ish and even then MLS teams were losing in early stages RB vs trinidad team, NE lost to a jamaican team like 4-0 ( at home iirc) to me still that mentality. now they have better squads investment and academys showing some signs of producing ok good prospects

When he makes the next WC roster as a surprise last minute addition, knocking Michael Bradley off the team - who then burns his uniform in disgust (ala Jess Agoos circa WC 1994) - I will not be surprised or confounded. Having a grizzled old talisman talking about kicking the ball uphill in the snow to beat Mexico is good locker room leadership.

With the Vazquez and Giovinco departures, Toronto seem committed to a rebuilding year and expecting them to challenge in CCL doesn't make sense. This doesn't mean they're back to bad old Toronto though. One of the features of a capped, non-relegation league is good teams might occasionally need to burn it down before building back up. Re-signing Giovinco to along term deal would help keep the bottom from dropping out but probably hurt their chances of reaching the top 2-4 years from now. I bet they let at least one of Bradley and Jozy go when their contracts come up also. Maybe they keep one - if so I guess it would be Jozy - to maintain some sentimental continuity.

Hate to say it, but NJ dominated in their 2-0 win away. Could have easily been 6-0. They were in their oppositions 18 the whole time. Bastards are in mid-season form already with that high press.

Is there a way to watch replays of matches or are they only available live on this Yahoo platform?

I couldn’t figure out a way last night, missed the NJ game. Did you turn anything up?

Atlanta Palace looking every bit the part a de boer coached team.

Down 2-0. Look utterly clueless.
