2019 Offseason Thread

Not sure if this is relevant in this thread... But talked to some family friends who had season tickets. They mentioned they dropped them... Thats like 15 season tickets.... I think games will look empty AGAIN next year.. Unless we bring a big attraction/DP signing.....maybe a Chicharito that could attract Mexicans or something otherwise our stadium attendance keep declining

Agreed, with a small addition in bold above..

Like if you think NYCFC will announce a new signings at 12:00:01 AM ET on 1/1/2019

I’ll be refreshing the Manchester City site

can someone please explain the "you don't get a wish" thing? I'm completely lost.
I don't think there's some clever hook you're missing. It's all on the surface. Warshaw could have said we should wish for a world class scorer to replace Villa, or someone as good as Herrera to boss the midfield, or that Torrent is more successful with a full preseason, but he decided to whine that the team didn't keep Villa around for the benefit of generic MLS fans who just want special players in the league regardless of whether it's the best use of a DP roster spot for NYCFC.

My wish for NYCFC is for our fans to stop being triggered by Bobby Warshaw and / or MLS "media".

ETA - they're really not all that knowledgeable or rigorous and their incentives are slightly different to independent media.

Changing the subject a bit...

I checked into my hotel room in Buenos Aires this afternoon wearing my 2015 second top. The guys at the desk both immediately called it out. NYC Soccer! I said “Yeah, Maxi Moralez!” But all they wanted to talk about was Villa, then Pirlo. They didnt know that Villa had moved on and their faces fell when I told them. They knew how much he meant to the team. I don't think they could begin to comprehend how much more valuable Maxi has been in this league than Pirlo was. They mostly seemed amused at how short he was, which I thought was interesting given that we are in the land of Maradona (and Messi).

Anyway, it was a depressing reminder of what we've lost. It is still early in the offseason and I’m not one who expects the FO to show their hand. I just hope they have one.

Feliz Año, everyone!

Absolutely heartless, Revfugee Revfugee . You guys don't even wear the same size.
Alibi? I was camped out front trying to get an autograph. I threw myself across the bastard’s path amd he knocked me cold.

But seriously, based on the Copa Libertadores fiasco, what I’ve seen here, and on Schelotto’s escape to LA, this place seems ripe for an MLS talent drain.
