2019 Offseason Thread

Maybe they loan us either Pity or Miguel. But then that would involve the club spending money on their salary.
He's probably at the league office doing paperwork and sight seeing before reporting to ATL.
Must be nice. ATL has their next DP lined up before even getting rid of one and we just...welp.
You know we’d get Barco...damnit.

If Atlanta is counting on Newcastle to actually pay for Almiron, they’re fucking stupid. They better have a loan partner lined up. Ashley is trying to sell the club and they are about £100 million apart on the terms. Window is closed in two weeks.

Maybe we can take him on loan...

There has been chatter about whether Newcastle understands the bind that ATL is in and the general consensus is “not really”. Seriously, to not understand the rules of a league you are buying a player from...but then again, it’s Newcastle.

Bigger question is whether ATL understands the bind ATL is in and the general consensus is “not really.” Seriously, to agree to terms with a 4th DP before either a sale of one or utilizing the LAGalaxy cheat code.....

A friend is working on the sale on the buyers end. Said Ashley is out of his mind. They think their deal is over market and did so to close the deal quickly because Ashley has a reputation of doing poor business. They offered £200 Million. Ashley wants £300 Million.

The issue as this relates to Atlanta is that Newcastle don’t have £30 Million to spend right now.

Why should Newcastle care? This whole situation gives them leverage if anything.

I just like how the contrast between "having a great camp" and "putting good days together and trending up" unintentionally makes it sound like Lewis has been a puto desastre.
I highly doubt that. I bet you Lewis is playing very well. How would Crooks know any way he isn’t there.

Many club reporters have a good network throughout the league and beyond. It's commonplace to speak with their colleagues of other teams to share info before games, same with USMNT media folks. He might be getting info from a writer who is there, or a writer from another club who has a good relationship with a player and is giving him info. It could also be Lewis claiming to be trending up lol.

I doubt Lewis is saying this but him putting in good days and is trending up is by no means a disaster. Actually that says consistency.

Would be interested to see where he is playing while in camp.

Hopefully on the field.

But in all seriousness, the odds are as a wing. What would be very interesting is if he was inserted as the Higuain player pulling the strings/outlet in the middle with few defensive responsibilities and the positioning to take defenders on and split the CBs with pace.

I keep thinking that maybe he’s a CF. Much less responsibility for a guy like him with pace, yet poor decision making. Split the CBs. Get in behind goal.

We just won’t be able to play up the M1 anymore :)
