(Per Google Translate):
"The interest in Quevedo does not stop. Now the New York City , by Alexander Callens, would have pointed the plate. Kevin plans to emigrate as a champion.

Kevin Quevedo could be transferred at the end of the season to the New York City FC club that participates in MLS . According to the newspaper AS, the Alianza Lima striker was offered to the "Newyorkers" and their appearances fit with what the coaching staff requested.

Domenec Torrént, Spanish strategist who took over the US team last June, has asked the management to buy reinforcements to strengthen his idea of play and the Victorian number 27 would be in his plan.

The professional future of the player of Alliance Lima continues without solving. He has a contract with La Victoria until 2019 but has confessed on several occasions his desire to go abroad to improve at all levels.

The father of Kevin Quevedo and the soccer player Tomás Costa, his teammate, are the people who are advising him. Germany's Werder Bremen also follows up.

THE DATA:
Kevin Quevedo has 3 goals with Alianza Lima in 2018."

I went right past Football Manager and Sofifa and straight to Youtube highlight packages, the gold standard of scouting methodology, and found these:

Honestly reminds me a ton of Medina. Loves using his speed to get around defenders, in a way that I'm not sure would translate well to MLS. Likes to sneak in at the backpost for a tap-in. You don't see him cutting in and taking so many long shots, unlike Medina, but I can see him struggling in the same ways that Medina has. Also has a handful of U-20 caps. If anything, he's slightly less accomplished.

If Kevin Quevedo is like Kevin De Bruyne. I’m okay.

pretty sure we dont need a 36 year old fullback

QPR fans seem to think Rangel still has it, though I haven't seen him play for a year or two. He is a right back, and I could see him as a part time player to rest Tinnerholm now and then or cover for injuries. But I suspect he would not come here for MLS backup wages and would rather play full time.

On the plus side, he was with Swansea back when they were rising and playing a very attractive, possession based game inspired by Cruyff/Barcelona etc. under Roberto Martinez and Michael Laudrup, and using a good number of players from Spain. This goes back 5-10 years ago. I am not surprised Torrent would want him. Maybe they entice him as a backup with a possibility of entering the Pep/Torrent coaching system, if that's even something he is interested in.

Sweat as a backup is fine. But he's not worth the $200,000 he's going to be making next season. Maybe we get lucky and Cincy takes him in the expansion draft.

RE: Tinnerholm, I actually think Tinnerholm exceeded my expectations. Individually, I think he was strong on defense, good on and off the ball and moved in the ways we needed him to. Now, with that being said, him having a revolving door of wingers on the right side didn't help him at all which I can see contributing to why some aren't impressed.

Also, his crossing is pretty bad, but if that's the worst thing about him, I'm cool with it

where are we getting that hes getting 200K?

Tinnerholm just seem to slow/clumsy to me at times. other times just brain farts where he just lets the ball go out of bounds or loses it so easily. and yes he gets beaten too but i just feel that is the issue on both ends LB/RB. As for crossing, since we tried to do that many times in the season i feel he should be ok at that at least. if the tactics is not to do crosses then fine but that didnt seem the case at all.

So the solution for Domè to be successful is wasting money on mediocre Spaniards on the wrong side of 33?
I don't know, I see one rumor.

It's a bit of a leap to think that this is definitely happening, or that if it is, Dome or anybody else is convinced that this is the missing piece of the puzzle that will propel us towards lifting the cup.

It's been reported by a few different sources already that he's been given the raise to 200k.

iraola 2.0
Lol, I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if that's realistic though. Iraola was capped by Spain and played in a La Liga / European side for 12 or 13 seasons, with many as captain.

I noticed that Rangel was at Girona for a season (2004-5). Torrent was head coach 2005-6 so there's reason to believe they may have overlapped, which maybe lends weight to the rumor based on a similar connection with Amagat. I still think it's hasty to imply that Dome or anybody else on the technical side thinks that this is the solution ( BxLio91 BxLio91), but admit that it's a concern if we are unduly weighting personal connection to the coach when assessing potential targets.

Even if Rangel was of Iraola's caliber, would an Iraola-like performance still be useful to us, 2 years on?

Regarding Villa - it takes time to bring over a top level DP. It takes research and scouting; a team has to evaluate options and focus efforts; especially, a team has to spend time communicating with the target and his advisers - getting to know them, understanding needs and wants and levels of interest, building trust and comfort. Go back and look at some of the big DP signings in league history - yes, maybe a few were put together quickly, but mostly the effort went on for a year at least.

The point is this. Either the Club has already laid the foundation for Villa's replacement, or it is already planning to re-sign him (or might as well re-sign him). They very likely aren't getting someone as talented as Villa or Martinez or Giovinco, etc., without having done the work.

I really hope this isn't true, Rangel is way too old for a guy with so little pedigree to even be considered. If we sign him and/or bring Amagat back it's starting to look like we have another coach with Kries like levels of needing "his guys" in the locker room. I'm in the very tiny camp of cautiously optimistic on Dome right now but if he starts pushing for old spaniards he knows from past stops I'm done with the guy. Regardless of wether Amagat performed well above his rep with fans, signing guys that old is just bad team construction. They won't be getting any better at this point in their career and the chances of them staying healthy for a full season are very low.

I agree with the premise, but not with the conclusion. I think the conclusion only makes sense if you think that the club is actually well prepared for this. If the club has already laid the foundation for a new DP or is planning to re-sign Villa as DP, or as a non-DP, then we wouldn't be hearing that Villa is in the dark, or seeing things that suggest that this is unresolved, or not seeing things that suggest that it is.

The fact that we are gives weight to the concern that the club isn't well prepared for this. It may be that we just have to be patient, but I've also seen the rumors that Villa is in the dark and they come from a credible source.
