He must have been unbelievably good in his other games this season.

Either that, or we finally have an explanation for why refereeing stinks in this country. The people overseeing it don’t have a clue.
 
I want to laugh at this, but honestly how many refs in MLS are actually good? Elfath is trash, Chapman is trash, Geiger is a joke, Toledo isn't very good. Hilario Grajeda is hilariously bad ... who do you actually want reffing this game?

... I can't believe I just named five MLS refs off the top of my head.

Kelly is my favorite. Aside from that, I have no referee confidence.

And I’m writing all my insults now for Allen Chapman when he refs a game at Yankee Stadium. I’m starting with, why do you hate us?

Kelly is the only competent ref in the league. It’s disgusting. Before him, there wasn’t one. So sad.

Biggest problem with the league.

You forgot Redcardo Salazar

Really, any ref not named Alan Kelly is crap. Geiger used to be good before his ego went to his head and reffing became about him, not the game (The Geiger Show).

But yeah, most of my vitriol is reserved for Chapman and Elfath.

Speaking of referees, how did either Vasquez (for shoving the official) or Bradley (two footed studs up tackle) not get reds in the playoffs? Awful.

I can only assume he has shown better in the other MLS games he has run out for, but he was utter crap in our game against Chicago, missed an obvious PK in our game against Houston, and failed to call for a critical replay when working as VAR in another of our games. We have every right to be harsh.

it looked offside but was not watching it on tv so not sure of other angles to confirm.....though technically it was assistant with bad call

Mmmm. . .. I had not given a single thought about refereeing in MLS. I acknowledge worldwide they are not our best friends , especially when our favorite team is loosing . . . . mmm :) I am flabbergasted! I dont' recall at this moment any MLS game that has created a huge refereeing contraversy. . .
I will sum it up with what my Dad , would always say on the WC Qualifiers came around and Ecuadoe would loose games ." Ese referi % & # esta comprado " :eek::rolleyes::(:mad:o_O

Lady, pretty much every other week refs are swinging outcomes in this league. It's only not a big deal because it's so common.
