Atlanta Postmatch

Probably nothing to do with ability and everything to do with injury. He had an ACL tear and went through serious rehab to get back into shape. He's probably just not match ready yet.

Am I crazy or didn't he play some in one or two of the preseason matches? That (what you both suggest) seems to make sense given that we usually drop dead weight pretty quickly. I just could have sworn he played in preseason.

That's really fast for an ACL, wouldn't be surprised if he had a setback from pushing it too hard.

Anyone else think Almiron's face is eminently punchable?

Reminds me of Robin Ventura, the baseball player. Always looks like he is smirking. I bet thats what set Villa off.
yeah, thought that the entire game with his quirky eat shit grin. But when he took out Ring with no card, he got bumped up to player most needing to either be bitten by Suarez, or kicked by Nigel de Jong in the solar plexus.

It wasn't only no card for Almirón, but the ref didn't even give a free-kick. He was well enough placed to see what happened, but maybe thought that Almirón had the right to pay back the first half scythe. Whichever way, the ref was a complete asshole.

I agree fully and payback should come with a price... Ring got a deserved yellow for his hatchet, but this deserved red.

It's late but no one posted this yet. Of note, players are starting to give handshakes and fist bumps to the camera guy.
Also, we discussed last week whether they show only NYCFC positive highlights and in this case that was true. Not one of the 3 Atlanta goals is shown.

It's the norm - all the BTS are on YouTube :/

... disappointing draws make me dense.

Better?
Ah. Me too, clearly.

I meant that not showing the other team's positive moments is the norm. You can see past Behind the Scenes on YouTube to verify. I don't know why I'm such a stickler for this, I just think intentional bias is a bad habit.

Odd that Vieira's post game press conference was not aired on Facebook live nor has one been posted on YouTube or elsewhere.

Was one conducted last night? NYCFCfan NYCFCfan
My bad for never responding. There was, no idea why it wasn't put up.
