Okay maybe this is just me but does the authentic jersey seem a bit cheap feeling? I was at a local soccer store up here in albany where they pretty have almost every shirt imaginable and in the mls section they had nycfc shirts and orlando city...both authentic....(and I'm sure it will be like this with others not trying to compare nycfc and orlando its just the shirts there at the time) but the orlando shirt feels much higher quality than ours does. The mls patches on the sleeves of the orlando shirt are like a harder type of plastic material with textures and grooves and raised mls letters meanwhile ours is just a thin piece of flat patch no textures, feels super cheap...you can even see it on the new patch on the timbers jerseys that just released today. Im not sure if this is worth complaining about but I for one am very picky about things and when i drop 120 on an authentic jersey i want it to feel authentic.IMG_6880.JPGIMG_6882.JPG

I agree 100%. It's been discussed a bit in other threads, but I'm pretty unhappy with the quality of the jerseys compared to other Adidas jerseys I have. The MLS patch quality is pretty bad. The patches on my authentic Quakes jersey from last year are MUCH nicer. Really pisses me off if the OCSC jersey is higher quality than ours.

its like they just got lazy with our jersey...maybe on the next batch of authentics or the away kit will at least have the higher quality mls patches and hopefully the away has a little more texture and feels like I'm wearing something that costs $120 but probably not. I wonder if they realize that the quality on their shirts is lacking....even just like our crest its just that same flat patchy material that you just iron on, no detail/quality at all...I wonder if thats adidas' problem or someone from the club calls the shots on something like that

Its an Adidas thing, NBA jerseys feel as bad.

The way the crest is is league wide. They have gotten rid of the nice, embroidered crests that they use for other league jerseys. Also hoping the the aways are higher quality.

It's really more of an MLS specific thing. Adidas jerseys from other leagues (Chelsea and Real Madrid for example) are MUCH higher quality than the MLS authentics. Way better material and overall build.

true, at least if you are kit supplier for the entire league at least make things uniform....no reason one jersey should feel cheaper than others

If you want to see what I think about Adidas go to the MLS 2015 jersey leak thread, I and others have made our grievances clear and #stopadidas.

To me this seems like it has to be a club thing because we are comparing an Adidas jersey to an Adidas jersey within the same league. So, based on that, I'd guess each club was involved in choosing the materials used. Why else would OCSC and NYCFC have different materials used for their home kits and the patches on them? Seems odd, but maybe NYCFC specifically chose the fabric based patches because they are lighter weight? I'm just trying to reason this out. It is surprising to me that it is not uniform across the entire league.

This isn't true at all. Like I mentioned in the other thread, the Adidas jerseys for Euro clubs is super high quality. Real Madrid's is exceptional, and all the others I've felt and seen in the Adidas stores are just as impressive. It's not an Adidas thing.

I wonder if the quality of the material is up to the clubs, because it's clear that the NYCFC jersey is lower quality. Maybe NYCFC decided to go with the cheaper option, which would be upsetting.

K an Adidas U.S. thing.

I have no idea about the other online shops but it should be mentioned that Orlando aren't even selling an authentic jersey on their club shop.

Yeah but they could have just put a "sold out" label on the page. Instead, there is no section for the authentic jersey whatsoever.

Same thing on the NYCFC site. No indication of authentics.

Hmm. Weird. Is it a standard thing in the US to remove an item when there's none in stock? I'm used to the items always being listed, just with a label showing them to be unavailable.

No it's not. I find it odd as well. My only guess is that MLS uses the same shopping experience for all teams, and this is how it handles out of stock items.

Damn, that's a huge difference. I haven't seen any in person yet so this is pretty disappointing for me. Maybe they were quickly producing the initial batch and cut corners?
