What row? If it's cheap enough tomorrow I'll bite too. I'm even eyeing $60 (all fees included) Audi club 110.

Row 15. Came to $31 a ticket. There was a $20 off your purchase promo code for seat geek I was able to use.

Okay. Not to put the cart ahead of the cart but if we win tomorrow, the 5th round of the USOC is scheduled for June 28th. What will happen to the regular season game scheduled for June 29th vs Minnesota?

Nothing. Our Cup game will be played June 27 probably, and the MLS game will happen as scheduled. Note that the Cup schedule gives one date for each round and says that games can be played one day ahead. The game hosting Minnesota is scheduled for Thursday June 29 because it just fits inside the Yankees 1 week road trip. They're home the previous Sunday and return the following Monday. That game isn't moving. The Pigeons will play with one day off. We can expect huge roster turnover. Let's hope we get that far and that all our players come back healthy.

Mata and Wallace are on the bench for Costa Rica tonight.

Mata didn't play, and Wallace went 10. I suppose both could go today, but given that the game ended around midnight ET in Costa Rica, it's a challenge to get them back to NYC in time much less up to speed on strategy.

ETA: Both have green cards and are not internationals, so would be helpful for depth at the least.

And on the other hand, Roman Torres went full 90 for Panama last night.

So, not to beat on a dead horse: Both Portland and Seattle fielded a 100% team B for their USOC game, despite it being the Cascadia classic and etc. PV has suggested he wants to field mostly starters. Do we know what the NJCows are planning to do? Are we going to be the odd MLS team that takes USOC seriously?

why not ? ...the problem is that we dont have a "2" team to pull kids from. portland/seattle/ RB have that and can call them up ( i think portland called like 6 players from T2) plus it wont be full starting XI due to nationality rules where i think only 5 non americans can start or play in game

Right. Between international duty and domestic player rules, we will be at least 50% guys who don't usually start as it is.

5 game winning streak ends up with a CONCACAF Champions League berth. Most teams don't take this seriously. This is the easiest path to both hardware and CCL. Take the path of least resistance and field a normal squad.

Updating my earlier post about player availability in light of recent news.

Probably Out
Camargo
, Matarrita, Wallace and Awuah have been called in for games on June 13 (day before this game), so they are almost certainly out.
Chanot and Herrera played games this prior weekend. Chanot sustained an injury of uncertain severity and is probably out. We understand Herrera will rest Wednesday night and maybe Saturday too.
Shelton remains injured. Pirlo is back practicing with the team and should be available.

Roster
This leaves us with the following players available, with international players in italics.

Striker: Villa, Okoli
Winger: Harrison, TMac, Lewis
Mids: Minimax, Ring, Pirlo, Lopez, Stertzer
FBs: Sweat, Allen, Gomez
CBs: Callens, Brillant, White
GKs: Johnson, Johansen, Rawls

That is 19 players, including 6 internationals. There are 3 goalkeepers. For our full 18, we need to drop 1 international. That means, among other things, that our 18 will either include all 3 goalkeepers or we will put an injured or tired field player in the 18.

So, pick your international who is going to sit. It isn't easy. It almost certainly won't be one of the CBs.

By my calculation, based on the post above, we will need to start at least 1 regular starter (at CB) and can start as many as 7: Villa, Harrison, Minimax, Ring, Callens, White, Johnson (note that doesn't count Pirlo). The other 4 usual starters (Matarrita, Wallace, Chanot and Herrera) are not available.

I think we sit one of Callens and White and maybe one of Villa and Harrison. We could go entirely without starters in the midfield, but I suspect we will play our two starters there.

Remember that because of depth issues created by international duty, injuries and roster restrictions, at least 5 and probably all 7 of the available starters will at least be in the 18 and available to play.

If I had to build the best squad I could out of those players (with the 5 intl rule) I think it would be:

----------------Johnson--------------
-------Brillant----------Callens----------
White-----------------------------Sweat---
-----------Ring--------Stertzer---------
-----------------Moralez----------------
Lewis---------------------------Harrison---
-------------------Villa----------------------

That lineup gives me a happiness level of 100 for this game:

Happiness deductions:
Lopez plays -50
Villa sits -20
Johansen starts -10
Rawls starts -30
Pirlo starts -10
lose the game -150
