I personally hope Villa doesn't it play. Long flight can't be good for a strain. Colorado is a dumpster fire. Let him be on the bench as a 2nd half sub if we need a goal.

I'm all for the camaraderie of the team sitting together on flights, but recovering from an injury is the one time I can see the need for Villa to buy his own seat in 1st class to get the extra leg room and seat width. The trainer should have him and the other walking wounded taking laps up/down the aisle every 15min.

And yeah, let him play the 2nd 45 if needed and rest if not. With two players down with hernias, we cannot afford to lose Villa to any more down time by rushing him back a week early.

This seems like the perfect game to give Sands a runout at DM. The projected Colorado midfield of Gatt, Azira, Watts and Hairston are not exactly world beaters.
I read this and said that has to be wrong as Watts is a CB, then checked his profile on transfermarkt and they list him as playing DM twice, including their last match against Houston.

And agreed, that midfield isn't particularly scary except maybe the speed of Hairston.

Also, lets hope Maxi doesn't pick up a yellow in this one. He's one away from another suspension, so we could potentially be looking at a midfield without Maxi, Ring, and Herrera next weekend.

If that's the case, bank on it happening. When has it not happened?

And what is the deal with yellow card accumulations? Does he really get carded that often?

Maxi gets a card for the weakest of tackles. He's like the jack Russell terrier nipping at the player's heels and the guy goes down easy. Maxi always has a look of "who me?" With a shrug like 'you've got to be kidding'

James Sands = Superstorm Sandy and Andraz Struna = Kaiser Soze.

Those two nicknames are not my proudest, but I figured someone has to start the bidding.

James Sands is Enter SandsMan. Knowing how people love to take nicknames one step further I expect people to start calling him Hetfield or Lars soon.

Lars would actually be a pretty awesome nickname for him because of the second-degree jump

Brosidon needs to play in a regular season game before the nicknames come out.

Believe me I was a conductor on the Sands hype train during his preseason showings, but we need to be real here wrt to nicknames.

No doubt, but something 2-degrees away is always better than a literal nickname insertion. Plays a while and earn it, but If he plays lights out then Lars will be fitting.
