Away - 09/30 Houston

I think a page before there was a quote that Chanot could be available this week?
I wish. He is listed on "out" on the injury report and below is the quote from EOS's report at training yesterday which, I think, I saw elsewhere as well.

"Chanot suffered a herniated disk in training the day before and while he did some light running, remains out indefinitely. Vieira said the club will check his status every day but admitted that it is still ‘a few weeks before he can start training’ with the club again."

I have not researched but I don't believe we have played one match yet since our Summer acquisition with our full best 11 squad. Is this accurate? I wonder if this has occurred with other clubs or the majority of clubs.

TMac--Villa--Harrison
Pirlo--Iraola--Lampard
Mata--Brillant--Chanot--RJ

Per Mix Diskerud's snapchat with double confirmation from Eirik Johansen's snapchat, Nordic Messi is in Houston!

Though he's probably just there as an injury replacement for someone on the 18 if something were to happen.

Isn't Umbro headquarters in Houston?

Not sure if this was linked yet, but I love this. http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2016/09/29/playoff-berth-just-small-step-nycfc-they-aim-top-two-finish

“I told the team that it's very difficult to get this,” forward David Villa said of making the playoffs. “It’s good for the team, but its not done.”

“We qualified for the playoffs and this is really good, but this isn’t our aim. This is just one of our targets,” Vieira said. “Our next target is to finish in the top two and to finish in the top two we have to win all our games because Toronto, the Red Bulls and Philadelphia will be fighting for those two spots as well.”

“Our approach to the game is not going to change. We prepare this week to face a good team who are playing better than they used to play at the beginning of the season,” Vieira said. “They have players who are capable of making the difference by themselves. If we are not prepared mentally we’re not going to have any chance to win that game.”

Damn. I just realized the first time I saw Beasley play was over 15 years ago in the WCQ against Jamaica at Foxboro after 9/11. He can still play.

Big physical mismatch between Beasley and Khiry.... that could be the crux of our attack.

I think we are better off attacking Williams and Anibaba. Beasley's positioning is so good. I don't trust Khiry to be able to beat Beasley on the dribble consistently.

If you watch how we play with Khiry on a wing, we're less apt to play out of the back. Khiry acts as a release valve for Saunders to boot the ball up the field. When you have three shitty possession players in Saunders, Mena and Hernandez, that makes a big difference.
