so is it that MLS gives teams funds to fly charter? or is it that they dont allow teams to spend on charters more than the allocated times
League rules allow for 4 one-way charter flights per season.

we aren’t likely to win
SKC has never lost a home opener at Children's Mercy Park, although they have only gone 2-0-5 in that stretch.

They also only lost one home game all last year, 0-1 to the Whitecaps in Sept.

So, not really expecting a win, but definitely hoping for a tie, and some decent looking soccer.

What ever the result, I'm just excited to start the season.

I am hoping to catch a few more games on TV this season, although the first one I will have to record and watch the next day.

Do you guys feel the squad is any stronger this season?
As of now, I think the consensus opinion is the squad is massively improved. Unfortunately, the majority as I perceive it also think that it is highly questionable as to whether or not we have actually meaningfully raised the ceiling of our best 11. And if we have, have we done so only in lock step with the league or have we taken the significant additional monies all teams were allowed to spend and consolidated and compounded our strengths.

To put it more specifically, we have only definitely improved at one position (right back). But the squad is definitely stronger from top to bottom. Instead of players that were utterly poor (Allen, Lopez, etc.) manning the bench, our subs should be much closer to the level of the first choices.

So, we ought to at least be ready for a cup run and any fixture congestion, assuming we ever win a cup match.

I am just surprised McNamara is still there and the club haven't gone big for a quality attacking midfielder. It seems the team will again be heavily reliant on Villa for the goals, which does worry me Midas. Hopefully, he stays fit and others can chip in with enough goals to make the team competitive.

I am also wondering if Mattarita may be better played ahead of Sweat with maybe Wallace playing in behind Villa. I think Wallace is the one other player who is capable of scoring goals and does work hard for the team.
