Good stuff.

Small nit. The David Villa penalty call was soft. The Harrison incident was clearly a penalty, but as you said, no VAR.

Game was nearly impossible to officiate anyway, with everyone sliding all over the place.

This is in my top 10 NYCFC game photos of all time.

Sounds like we're using one of our chartered flights from ORL to SEA.

Definitely. There are only a handful of direct flights from MCO to SEA and they're not at optimal times. I imagine the team leaves Thursday midnight after the match.

So looking at player's Instagram stories...

Isi posted being at an airpor 19 hours ago. I can't make out which one it is.

Awuah posted 1 hour ago being at home. Previously he was with Lewis in a car.

I guess the team travels tomorrow? Is Isi's injury severe enough that he's missing both matches and gets the rest of the week/weekend off?

I would assume the questionable is based on fitness. It's been a while for a lot of these injured forwards. Thankfully, our defense has been incredibly sound and OCSC's defense is subject even in their wins. Still, I think this team could get at least a point in Orlando:

Medina------------ Lewis
---------- Maxi
----Mata------Ring
------------Ofori
Sweat-----------------Tinner
-------Callens---Chanot
------------SJ

Seeing any of the injured guys give 30 minutes would be fantastic. And hopefully one will be fully fit for Seattle.
I'm not certain I would want any of those guys (especially Villa) playing in Seattle on their turf. Definitely not if they get any minutes on Thursday.

Agreed. Bad place for guys coming off injury. Maybe Berget.

I definitely want Lewis starting on the turf - let a young kid who likely has a lot of experience with the surface to play and use his speed to trash defenders. And he’s got the personality to eat up a crowd environment like that.

Time to see if that “questionable” tag really means “out”

I could be a wrong since it’s on turf and a short turnaround, but I’m expecting Villa to come off the bench vs Orlando and start vs Seattle. Berget and Shardi haven’t missed as much time as Villa, so they are likely closer to match fitness then he is.

Every match people say "i wonder if questionable means out or not", and every match it has changed (sometimes they've come on, sometimes they've not been in the XI) so how about questionable means "they might be, but they might not" like it really implies? lol

Good point, but I do know the team has used the “questionable” tag when there has been 0% the player will play. Example, Villa was marked as questionable for the Red Bull game, but we later found out that he had not participated in a full training at that point, and didn’t until after the Montreal game

Our team is full Belichek with the injury report. We have upgraded people that had no chance of playing. We have purposefully don't include injured players and after the game say they picked up a knock training the day before.

I know what both of you say is true, but I'm saying this season it' seemed so far to be pretty evenly distributed...

I seriously doubt if you add up the number of questionable players that have played vs not played that it is even at all.

We fake contract signings, so hardly a stretch to lie here.

I need to graduate from my expectation that regardless of the opponent we will win every game at home and punt points every game on the road. I need Dome to change that presumption this week.

Today marks the first historic instance that NYC will have played the same team (Orlando) on the same date (July 26). NYC played and defeated Orlando on July 26, 2015. If the club wins today it also becomes the first historic time that NYCFC beats the same team on the same date.

*I believe the preferred terminology and decorum is “Historic First”.

Just an FYI.
