Well he traveled. So maybe I'm wrong and he will play...

Bench: JLew, Q-Tip, Maestro, Hey Mikey!, Hey Matarria!, Norris, Lurch

I would love it, but it sounds like wishful thinking. Villa is still hobbled, we don't know how much, and Yangel was not even in the 18 for the last match. I'm fearing we'll see Pirlo or TMac in the starting lineup. Maybe both, just because PV! And with the Chicago match coming up, PV may decide to rest Villa.

I would normally agree with you, and I didn't think Herrera would actually play today, until I saw that he was headed to Montreal. And Villa is also in Montreal. I would hope PV would be smart enough that if he didn't plan on playing Herrera or Villa, they would go straight on to Chicago. Not to say that he couldn't sub them in, but I think there are plans to play both of them

I don't disagree. If everyone is reasonably healthy, I think I go with our Best XI, and I worked off the assumption that they are. But, it may be that Villa could use some time or that Herrera isn't ready for a full 90. Remember that we have 2 weeks off after Saturday.

It's been too long without that front six together in a while

I'd agree if they weren't injured, but NYCFC turns a hotel room into a physical therapy room when traveling. They can't have so many PT staff that they can split into two teams, so I bet they traveled to take advantage of the staff for an extra three days.

Or maybe they're healthy and are starting. I have no idea.

Since its a NYCFC game I'm going to break my own rules and drink during the week.

I feel like I'm going to need it once we see the words Pirlo and MacNamara proudly gracing our starting XI.

They have to leave some trainers/PT staff at home in NY to work with those that are injured (as seen in many of Mata's Instagram stories while he was out). So I would think they would have stayed in NY for a few extra days and met up in Chicago later. But I don't know either.

We'll find out if that's the case in 90 minutes.

I am right there with you, but hoping it's more of a celebratory drink with having a midfield of Herrera, Ring, and Maxi, with Matarrita at LB.

we need to go 4/4 in wins now that atlanta got hot.
I think we need at least 8 points minimum for second. Atlanta is in the middle of a stretch where they have played 8 games in 3 weeks which is insane and they will have to do it without Almiron basically the rest of the regular season.

SHHHHH! THAT'S TWICE!

Well, time to break out the good stuff. Villa not starting. Herrera not starting. Shelton starting. Harrison playing centrally again?

Oh god.

But hey, Matarrita is back, because we were really sucking at LB...

So, its not Pirlo and TMac... but its not much better. Damn

The graphic also makes no sense. Why wouldn't Shelton and Moralez switch?

And they give tmac the band. Unreal. The dude jogs around with trex arms and scores a goal here and there and somehow starts. Just about every other bench player we have should be ahead of him.

I was going to have a nice bottle of wine with dinner and watch the game, now I'm thinking that just might not be potent enough.
