Good trade all round imo. With all this extra TAM sloshing around, the international slots have never been more valuable. And we just freed up two of them by shipping off our backup CB.

I was never particularly polite about Brillant. He was arguably the most overpaid non-DP on the team, and too often he shit the bed when it really mattered (Red Bulls away was particularly howling). I think management thought he would play at Chanot levels when we signed him, but obviously had to have another go. But credit to him, he filled in ably last season. I'm sure he'll improve D.C. United.

Earned his keep last year. Thank you Fred.

Not sure if this makes sense but $75k of TAM is worth less today than a year ago. Like the international spot we got

It's 75k of GAM, which I believe is different from TAM somehow.

You are correct. GAM can be used on anything. TAM can only be used to buy a player with a cap hit between $500k and $1.5 Million down

Can we use GAM to buy down Maxi until he is under $1.5m and we can then use TAM to buy him below DP threshold?

Note that this is not me advocating we do this, just wondering out loud whether or not it can happen.

As of the last rules, you can not combine GAM and TAM

Damn. I liked that idea. Then again I like just plain cutting him even more and opening up a DP spot.

I understand the trade, but I also wish there was a way we could have kept him. Yes we have Ferraresi coming in, but Brillant was a proven starting caliber CB in this league. Not to say he didn't have his gaffes and mistakes, but he was solid for us. And considering the injuries and international duty we dealt with this year, having a dependable third CB is necessary

We don't even have a first centreback anymore.
