Down & Out
New schedule released: http://schedule.bundesliga.com/

In all honesty I was pretty psyched last year to watch their matches on FOX, but for whatever reason I just couldn't get into it.

Was it because Bayern Munich once again ran away with it? Terrible promotion by FOX? Too wrapped up in the Premier League? A combo of all 3? I'm reasonably sure there are a few guys who felt the same way.

If you click the link you'll see a place to sign up for the newsletter the Bundesliga emails out. Maybe this will help keep up my interest.

i liked it whenever i was able to watch it....i do agree FOX's coverage felt "meh" about the whole thing ( I fear the world cup coverage will suck as well). ....and it doesnt help the fox sports go sucks as well.

and yes Bayern running with the league kinda kills it.....you either gotta be a fan of another club or really be hardcore about the sport to keep following it.

still, ill still tune in when i can to watch.

Too many games on non-HD FS2 killed it. Did my best to tune in when it was on FS1 unless there was a compelling Prem match on.

That was really it for me. I ended up watching more Prem League last year because the productions were generally much, much better than Bundesliga. I would also be interested in watching some La Liga or Serie A matches, but those productions are even worse (save for listening to Ray Hudson - but not sure that makes up for the other parts of the BEIN coverage)

Yup. I even actually have BEIN as part of my cable package, but almost never click up that high.

Does anyone know if this is legit something they play at the Arena before Wolfsburg come out? I think it's kind of cool if they do.

Fox Sports really killed my ability to watch Bundesliga games. They aired the majority of games on FS2, which I don't have on my tv package, and when I was able to watch the games they usually had horrible match coverage. I wasn't a fan of their announcers or the studio hosts.

Julian Green is cap tied to us now right?
Yes, Julian Green (who scored in a World Cup knockout match for the US in 2014 against Belgium) is tied to the USMNT.

Can't wait to see Pulisic---Morris---Green up top as starters. So tired of Dempsey/Altidore. When's our next qualifier? Isn't something scheduled for the end of August?

September 2nd and 6th are the next two games, WC Qualifiers against St. Vincent & the Grenadines and then Trinidad & Tobago

Apparently, Chelsea has nixed the loan of Matt Miazga to Eintracht Frankfurt, preferring to keep him in England. So, that is one fewer U.S. player in the Bundesliga.

Coverage on Fox started this afternoon. Suffice to say I missed it. So glad I signed up for that newsletter.......you know, the one that was never emailed to me.

Bayern blew out Werder Bremen 6-0, so I guess I didn't miss much. Lewandowski bagging 3.

Looks like they have 3 or 4 matches on various Fox outlets tomorrow, but quite honestly nothing that's going to force me to turn off the Premier League.

BMG vs Lever will be a great game tomorrow. Worth tuning in.
Hoffenheim vs Leipzig on Sunday. I'm interested to finally see Leipzig in action.

Lahm scored a goal in the Bayern vs Bremen game. That doesn't happen very often.

Edit: Forgot to mention the Dortmund vs Mainz game. Dortmund lost 4-0 to Mainz in the preseason and Thomas Tuchel, Dortmund's manager, managed Mainz before moving to Dortmund (just like Dortmund's previous manager) so there may be something of a rivalry forming there.

Also noteworthy about that Hoffenheim vs Leipzig game is that Hoffenheim is hated almost as much as Leipzig by the German fans because Hoffenheim was a tiny club that was bought by a billionaire and advanced rapidly from the 5th tier to the 1st. Hoffenheim itself is a tiny of village /suburb of only about 3,000 people. The team plays in 30,000 seat stadium in an urban area of only 36,000. The Germans don't like this because they feel a team should succeed only on the back of it's fans. To me this attitude seems to defeat the purpose of promotion and relegation but what do I know.

Here's a LOL article from today's N.Y. Times on Red Bull2 (Leipzig).

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/28/sports/soccer/bundesliga-rb-leipzig-red-bull.html?ref=soccer

And all this time I was under the impression Authentic, Organic & Grassroots was strictly an
American scourge. Go figure.

As you can clearly see, their stadium is just as full as the one over in Harrison.
UGH, I are an idiot. Didn't realize the article was linked in the post right above. Too early on a Saturday morning, I guess. Sorry about that SF.
