Bundesliga 2016-2017

http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/201...a-dortmund-sportfreunde-lotte-video-dfb-pokal Not sure if I should put this here or US Men's National team thread. Kid scored again in the cup pretty nice finish.
Probably safe to presume we all know when CP scores. That said, I don't have a good answer. Usmnt thread is probably more likely to get discussion.

Barely a year ago I remember posting about him debuting. Now, he's widely considered the best in the world at his age. And he's basically rendered Marco fucking Reus superfluous.

German police now think that the Borussia Dortmund bus bombing was motivated by an attempt to profit from shorting their stock (BVB being one of the few clubs in the world to be publicly traded).

Prosecutors said that the suspect had taken out a loan and bought a large number of so-called put options for shares of Borussia Dortmund, betting on a drop in the share price after the attack.

"We'd like to think that the suspect is responsible for the attack on the team bus," Frauke Kohler, spokesperson for the federal prosecutor's office in Germany, said in a brief statement to reporters. "We were put on to the suspect's tracks by suspicious option deals. He in total bought three different derivatives and gambled on falling stock prices.

"He bought the majority of the derivatives on April 11, the day of the attacks. The suspect took out a loan over several €10,000. His profit would have increased all the lower the stocks would have dropped. We can't say right now how high the profit could have been exactly."

Wolfsburg v. Hamburg today, 9:30 FS1. Winner stays up. Heads will roll!
Nice game. Hamburg had to win: Wolfsburg could win or tie. Wolfsburg scored at 23', putting Hamburg in a deep hole. But they scored at 32' and 88' to take the win and avoid the last relegation spot in the league. Wolfsburg does not automatically go down like the bottom 2 teams. The will play the 3rd place team in the next league -- winner plays in the Bundesliga. I believe the history is that the team seeking to stay up usually beats the team attempting to rise in these games.

The Dortmund v Bremen match today was incredibly entertaining. Dortmund were fighting to lock 3rd place and secure Champions League group stage before going into the DFB Pokal final this weekend, and Bremen were trying to secure Europa League, and both teams played super hard. End to end for 90 minutes, Dortmund creating tons of chances but only scoring twice from open play (plus two goals from penalties awarded), Bremen counterattacking like crazy and creating few chances but scoring from three of them. Then, on the second Dortmund penalty, Marco Reus declining to take it for his hat trick and giving it to Aubameyang so Auba had the chance to seal 3rd in the League, secure UCL, and also win the equivalent of the Golden Boot (the Törjägerkanone, goal-hunter cannon) with the same strike. And he did.

Glorious football.
