So I'm not sure anyone else cares but I do so...

QPR in first though two matches

Aston Villa win a home match for first time in forever

Rafa's Newcastle on zero points though two matches

Former MLS player /coach (yes I know he was much more than that) Walter Zenga off to a a decent 4 point start with Wolves. Also they have these funky new fantasy/comic art programs http://www.foxsports.com/soccer/sto...e-game-with-awesome-new-program-covers-081116

Rafa is only good at playing with the previous coach's players. Newcastle sold a few so he's doomed.

I have a feeling Villa and Newcastle are going to tear up the Championship . . . so who does everyone think will be the 3rd team promoted? I'm pulling for WOLVES.

Usually all three demoted teams don't bounce back up but with parachute money you cant' count them out. Newcastle got their first win 4-1 over Reading today.

I'd love to see Wolves up. Not sure if the new ownership, manager, players came/are coming in too late for this year? If they don't make it this attempt I'd be very confident about next year with the current level of investment.

If I had to pick a team who's not been up in awhile my money might be on Brighton. They've come close a few times recently and they have some real quality. They brought Glenn Murray back from Palace who's always scored goals at this level. They have Steve Sidwell with plenty of Premier league experience, Anthony Knockaert who was one of Leicester 's best players the year they ran away with the Championship (as opposed to the EPL championship ) and two Israeli internationals Kayal who used to be with celtic and Hemed who scored 16 goals last season.

Villa struggling right now but I still think there's a chance they'll come good. I've been following them pretty closely. There first loss opening night against Sheffield Wednesday was on BEIN. Villa were the better side but lost to a late goal after not taking there chances. Again today Villa absolutely dominated Bristol city in the first half but only had a 1-0 lead and absolutely fell apart in the second to lose 3-1. Against Huddersfield they threw away a late 1-0 lead with a freak goal where the keeper kicked it off of someone's back to deflect in. At some point I'd expect their luck to change and that there's too much talent to not be in at least the play off race.

On the other end Huddersfield Town are currently in first place and haven't lost yet. It's a LONG season in the championship and I don't expect they have the squad to actually win the championship but I guess after Leicester last year it's no longer wise to place that kind of bet.

Especially in the Championship. They say that in the Championship any team can win the league, and they say it for a reason.

Personally I'm totally neutral about who goes up and who goes down in the Championship (although as someone who grew up as a child watching his team yoyoing between the divisions, I will always feel a perverse thrill at the schadenfreude of clubs like Newcastle or Aston Villa failing to get promoted, or even better - getting relegated a second time) but I'd really like a team which has never been in the PL to be promoted. Huddersfield and Bristol City seem like the early contenders for that honour.

Well, Man City went all the way down once, which is where the "we're not really here" chant came from I think. Personally I'm rooting for Sheffield Wednesday to come up but it's not looking likely at the moment. Still early though.

There are about a dozen different theories as to where that song came from. Considering it originated within most fans' lifetimes, and songs don't become established unless thousands of people join from the very start, you'd think more people would know the truth, but honestly no-one has a clue. And yeah, the very first game I ever went to live was against Stoke in the third tier, back in 1998. I remember those days. It's for that exact reason that a part of me actively wants to see other clubs endure the same fate.

So, belated trip Report from Loftus Road: It was awesome.

As I mentioned we were in the 2nd row of section S. I'm pretty sure we were closer to the pitch than even the Pitchside seats at Yankee Stadium, and for only about $45. $35 for my parents since they are seniors. Can't beat that. We sat in the Ellerslie road stand which I believe is the oldest. It was extremely bare-bones, was rather similar to Fordham's stand, except with seats, less legroom, more barbed wire, ridiculously tiny and crowded "concourse", and - pukka pies, which I passed on. I did chug a Carlsberg before the game though. I won't be complaining about beer options at Yankee Stadium anymore.

I would love it if we built a stadium that put fans equally close to the field. But even then equivalent seats would be unaffordable. Then again, by the time it actually gets built the level of play on display might well be higher than what I saw last week.

Not a whole lot to say about the game itself as QPR was completely outclassed in every way. Newcastle's 3000 (!) away fans were louder than the home fans (and we were much closer to the home group) even in the early stages, and once the slaughter got going the difference only got bigger. QPR fans stayed with it longer than I might have expected though. Several older guys near me started really ripping into the team (and well within earshot of the players) towards the end which was kind of funny until you looked at them and saw their faces red with rage. Yikes. Crowd was a lot of fun on the whole, lots of little chants breaking out everywhere.

Not a single card was issued oddly enough.

Train home was full of drunk and enthusiastic Newcastle fans, we heard the Rafa Benitez song about 20 more times. All in all it was a fantastic experience, and along with Evensong at York Minster, one of the highlights of the trip.

And here's a video, which I think does capture the scene pretty well despite a certain lack of horizontality.

Newcastle are notorious for having loud and passionate fans especially the away fans (I have had the opportunity years ago to sit with them at a game) that's a good game you picked for atmosphere, QPR is a good ground, may be a small capacity but they have some hardcore fans, did you go to any other grounds?

I did not. The only other game that happened when I was in London was Spurs vs. Monaco which would have been much more $$ if it had been possible to attend at all.

You probably could of got a ticket, its a Europa League game, attendances tend to be down, prices tend to be cheaper about a £5 each of usual price, then they usually make it cheaper for season ticket and membership owners, I know that's what they doing for Manchester United this season

It was Champions League I think. And if I heard correctly, they held the game at Wembley and attendance was through the roof.

Yeah. It was Spurs' first game back in the competition after five years out of it, and their first game in Wembley, where they've agreed with the FA to play their European games in the wake of the rebuilding of their ground. It was always going to be a sell-out.

Oh man my bad I thought for some reason they were in the Europa League lol
