Anyone have any creative cocktails they pioneered or perfected?

I'm a big fan of my all fruit jalapeño grapefruit margarita.

I tried to expand the grapefruit usage to making a monito just now. I either got it badly wrong or mint just doesnt work with grapefruit. I'm thinking it's the latter - because it's so harsh, not because I have exceptional mixology skills.

ETA: it has gotten better though. Or I'm feeling it more and don't care. Likely the latter once again.

God bless RSL and Florida man. We all need someone to look down to.

Being that it's summer, and that it takes little skill to mix, try a cool and refreshing Johnnie Red and Orangina over ice. It's an actual recipe JW promotes and it's perfect for the summer. But only use Red, the others would either be peaty or wasted value.

Ewwww. Might be good. But it doesn't sell itself.

Here's a margarita for you. Proportions vary with taste; the trick is in the calvados.

2 oz. tequila
1 oz. calvados
1 oz. triple sec
1–1.5 oz. fresh lime juice

Wow. Sounds as delicious as the El Presidente. They have it a this restaurant called Chili's. It's where business gets done.

They make one just for me at the NYY Steakhouse that I designed, It's called the 420 ;-) It's muddled fresh watermelon juice , Ketel One Vodka and a splash of simple syrup, garnish with watermelon wedge-Perfect summer cooler :D

Sounds good, but probably too sweet for me (or too sweet without a complementary flavor component.

My unsolicited thoughts on potential improvements: I'd probably throw some club soda in there, too. I like a few bubbles with clear liquor cocktails. I feel like it lifts the taste and mouth-feel. Without it, they often seem flat to me.

Then, at least a sprig of mint, if not more. Maybe some cucumber juice.

I like my drinks to have a little bite, so I might even try some ginger in there. Orrrrrr...a tiny bit of habanero.

And yeah, I guess I'd have changed your drink into something else entirely.

One question though, how do you muddle watermelon juice? Or is it just muddling the watermelon to extract the juice?

Is NYY steak ever open for NYCFC? In a way it is one of the best deals in the place - Expensive food at a 2x markup is arguably better than cheap food at a 3x markup. And even at crowded Yankees games, you can generally get a seat at the bar because most people don't seem to know that you can sit at the bar without a reservation. The staff are also a cut above the rest of the stadium and it is the only place in Yankee Stadium that I've received free drinks.

Actually it's not too sweet , it's just a drop really of the simple Syrup, so it's basically Vodka watermelon juice . I did try it with the Club soda, but I hate club soda .

I'm a regular at the Steakhouse, even have my own engraved knife. They tried opening for NYCFC the first year, but people paying $20-40 or tickets weren't going to splurge on a good meal. Most times it was just me and a friend sitting there and I only sit at the bar-second to last seat on the right is MINE . It's also the only place that does not measure the alcohol. I have a Filet before every Yankee game and my seats are always waiting for me, the bartenders love me lol

Is that snail next to your name because they think you eat slowly?

Seriously though, that's kinda crazy cool that you have your own knife.

That's just an edit to block out my last name ;-) I was presented with the knife opening day 2010 after my first year at NYY , they don't make them for everyone. I have one in Midtown too. My knife is not normally in the case with Jeter, Mariano and the Steinbrenner's, It's in the second case that's on display, they just did that for a photo for me.

Just muddle the watermelon to make juice and get the seeds out.
