Apparently we decided to not show up for the second half. Two entirely different teams in the two halves.
Felt that goal coming.
Really missing key players in Ring and Herrera.

A road point is not a bad thing. Especially missing Ring and Herrera. And yet I'm still pretty pissed about that game.

What changed so much in the second half? Was it just Colorado deciding to press higher and not allow us so much possession?

Pretty sure Shelton did nothing positive, and it's not like he was using his size and strength for anything, so I don't get why he is a better choice then Lewis.

Was exciting to have Villa come back in, but by then we had no possession and the two times he touched the ball, he lost it. And to make matters worse, everyone else is scoring in the Golden Boot race

Tommy in fine form: Not much + wonder goal.

All the praise coming in for Sands is well deserved. Kid doesn't miss a beat.

But then PV adds a defender. Has that ever once worked for us? Just fucks up the D line's communication and strategy. How hasn't he learned this lesson? But I guess he may be a slow learner (See, e.g., Khiry).

Extremely pissed in the result on the road tonight. We dominated most of the match but left the foot off the gas in the second half and played extremely poor in the final 15. We also missed some clear chances with Sweat 1v1 on Howard, Pirlo's free kick and Brillant's deflected header going off Moralez, and Moralez at the end. Good brining Sands on and brought some calmness to the midfield but adding another right back did nothing. I also don't think Villa did much tonight and watching the replay it may have been him that lost the ball to Badji who scored the equalizer. And that substitution at the end caused a great deal of confusion, wrecking the back line. Never mess with the backline.

This one may again fall on Vieira and its in game tactics.

In the press conference Vieira said that playing in Colorado some players got tired in the end. Well, why fly the team out the day before the game?

We play 3 games in eight days: vs. Houston (in CT, Saturday), at Montreal (Wednesday), at Chicago (Saturday). That Chicago match is crucial and a point is a minimum depending on the point total going into the final two matches of the season.

With our play toward the end tonight, the fact only a McNamara screamer was our only goal against the team in the league currently, and our players available, has me extremely worried holding onto the 2nd seed.

We were missing 6 starters (Mata, Chanot, White, Ring, Herrera, and Villa) so it's probably not a matter of our B team playing bad but rather being bad. With that many crucial people out this is entirely Maxi's team, and as soon as he got tired we became very poor.

RJ, Sweat, Shelton, TMac are what they are. Pirlo is a tiny fraction of the player he once was, and his free kick today was almost cruel, the way it reminded us of all that we had expected from him and didn't get. Rodney first touch is pretty atrocious too, but what saves him is his imagination for the last pass. But I would not consider him anything more than serviceable. I'm starting to wonder if Mata wasn't the main component in the successful partnership they had early in the season that made Rodney look so good.

No reason that anybody can see for Shelton being ahead of JLew. Sands very good on the ball, but losing physically against Colorado. BTW Colorado the most talentless team I have seen this season. RSL had at least 2 players (Savarino and the other DP) who had talent. Colorado maybe Gatt.

We are 50/50 to lose the 2nd place

Rodney was gassed at 70min and I kept waiting for Lewis to come in. He just doesn't have the stamina to be effective all game but PV never learns to sub him for fresh fast legs

I tried to figure out what happened and can't tell. It was one of those annoying times where the camera is focused on a player who just came in while something important is happening elsewhere. It's hard to tell how that play got started and I tried watching it develop 2 dozen times.

Also not sure why so many in the shoutbox blamed RJ for it. He seemed pretty far from the play. He did pull up after chasing it but I don't think he could have made a play had he kept going, and there were about 3 players closer than him.

To be even more annoyingly contrary, I'm not sure you can say this is a case where adding a defender and bunkering cost us the game. We fell apart like 3 seconds in after the sub. There was no bunker. Half of the back line was still in midfield saying who's the new guy.

Which also doesn't mean I love RJ or the subs overall.

Much indecision in the 2nd half. No press. Jack only belongs on the right or in the midfield. His golden touch is elusive but he's playing great D. How are you going to get Okoli to be confident if you don't put him in a position to be able to hold the ball. It would have been a better matchup. Consistent lack of quality in the final 3rd. Unlike TFC. 1 point good for all the lack of offense. CR knocked on the door much more.

Something says to me Lewis or Shelton won't want to stay around if there not playing consistently

Where is JLew going, Jason? What's the trade talk for him?
I don't know But I'm saying young players not playing enough who have talent wont want to sit around and not play.

I think RJ was supposed to move up,meaning he should have been pressing the ball there. At a minimum, I don't see how you can be okay with him releasing the player to no one.

RJ isn't good. Sweat is actually even worse on defense, but he enjoys Callens on his side.

We're just not very good in our current state. I don't expect much from here out unless we get healthy. Finishing second or third just doesn't matter to me if we are still playing this combo of has beens, never weres and never wills.

I don't see where either would demand to leave. Lewis is 20 years old and the organization is clearly bringing him along carefully. I'm sure this is being communicated to him and he seems nothing but giddy in every post game interview he's done. Shelton is staying as long as we'll have him, no way he gets the same money any place else. Based on his play he's USL bound at best when his contracts up.

Of course Lewis is talented enough to start on a lot of MLS teams I think he should play a lot more then hopefully moved to a starter next year

Where have I seen this before this season? Up by 1 late after having missed some great chances to go up more and then a defensive change and the end that fucks up everything. 2-2 New England comes to mind.
Dude, be me for a decade and then try to talk about this shit. I see it over and over and over. So fucking predictable. I just want to be surprised occasionally.

Are we seeing different plays? I see him 20 yards away laterally from Badji when the play starts. How could he release him? Am I looking at the wrong player? Are you?

Maybe. I thought he was near the receiver of the ball on the throw in. Maybe it was someone else.

I am not going to make an attempt to go back and watch right now.

I am sure he was at fault somehow, no matter what the tape shows.
