Seems that our results closely follow the amount of scrutiny PV is under for the Arsenal job. Now that he's no longer in serious contention we get our groove back on.

We're still towards the top of the table still and hopefully we can record a couple more good results before we face Atlanta again. Onwards and upwards.

Nice game all around. Thought Berget looked really good today. He needs to get on the score sheet, but his overall impact is very positive.

Announced attendance just under 22k.

I love the formation shift and embracing of the fact that we have no left side defender(eta: other than Callens.)

Isi is the king. Long live the king.

Villa was stellar today, as was Maxi.

And damnit, now I have to hate Sweat more because I have even more recent examples of why he should never play.

Missed the first half which sounded ho hum?

I think I like Medina as our first sub for now with some starts mixed in. He was really good with the fresh legs running at that tired defense. Him and Villa had some really good chemistry and it’s a shame he didn’t get one.

Ring’s quietest game to date, and that’s not a bad thing. He just didn’t have to do much today.

Callens wants to score so bad. If we didn’t have a great CDM I wouldn’t mind trying him there because he is so damn athletic and has decent ball skills.

SJ was sharp when tested.

For once happy with PV’s subs even if it meant Tmac

Haven’t mentioned Villa yet but feel like it goes without saying. He was MOTM and looks to be finding some form going into some tough tests coming in the next month or so.

A resume builder against the second worst team in the league. Nothing to get overly excited about.

Difference in quality was huge today. By about the 25th minute, our guys started losing respect for Colorado and in the second half it was down to zero. We were just toying with them. Trying tricky plays and dribbles and all those crazy runs forward from Callens.

We knew if any of that didn’t work and we lost the ball we’d have it back in 20-30 seconds.

Villa was huge. Best guy on the pitch. So dangerous every time he was on the ball.

Our attack was so fluid. People interchanging places and turning up in unexpected spots to receive the ball. It made for an entertaining game, even if the rain took some of the starch out of the crowd.

I thought Ring was one of our best players tonight. He was basically playing center back which afforded callens the opportunity to play as high as he was

Pretty good game overall - Villa was really fired up and all over the pitch looking for the ball. It did mean he lost the ball on a number of occasions, but the drive to be involved and the desire for the hat trick at the end were great.

Agree that Ring was solid - #2 behind Villa for MoTM for me.

Love to see Callens going all Beast Mode and making those forward runs too.

Colorado were shocking, would love to play them every week.

Also that seemed to me like one of the worst refereeing performances I've seen in a while - constantly giving little niggley coming together type clashes to Colorado and ignoring when our guys got wiped out. No penalization for all their diving and play acting and just a series of questionable calls all afternoon.

I am completely soaked to the bone, but i'd do that all again.

Ring was playing the role that Toronto was forced to play Bradley in after their CB injuries -- but was arguably the best player on the field doing it. He broke up so many plays at midfield when playing as a stopper. It felt like nothing could get past him.

Only Two Things Today:

1. There was a lot of David Villa with his hands on his head. Villa did some funky things with the ball, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, sometimes his teammates didn't work it out. In a more serious game against a better opponent I'd like to this there would be less of this.

2. During the final part of warmups they players line up and go their runs on the near sideline. They usually do four runs and then wait for the final sprint to midfield. Mata was leading the line. Chelsea, the in stadium host, was behind to the players. They were looking at her, a lot. During the last run where then then players stay before the midfield run, Mata initially began to run back to the starting position at the corner flag. I think it was Callens that had to tell him to come back. Distracted.

That long mad dash Mata made to the sidelines after his goal into the arms of Wallace was straight out of the Notebook. I didn't see the Notebook, but I assume that it had some scene like that.
