CONCACAF Gold Cup 2017

Yeah, the 3-0 win could loom large.
So if he were to play in their last match, does that automatically count as a 3-0 result as well? Regardless of the results?

Lets say Costa Rica blows them out 6-0, is the forfeit a 3-0 result or 6-0?
What if they win 2-0? Or 4-1? Does the goal conceded come out?

I don't think this will come into play at all here for tiebreaking purposes, but it possibly could and I would be curious as to how it affects things.

On the flip side, as soon as he stepped onto the pitch, Honduras knows they have 3 points in the bag and a +3 goal differential (whereas Canada only got a +2 in their match). Having not watched the match, they could have made early subs to rest key players, and just take the match easy to be fresh for their upcoming match with Canada.

In the prematch they said anything better than 3-0 would count, including 5-2 since total goals are first tiebreaker.

It's silly by French Guiana, on the other hand also silly for the Caribbean cup that qualifies to the gold cup to have different rules where he could be eligible and help them qualify.

I don't be understand how the ref allowed the game to commence? Don't the officials review the lineup/players' cards to verify eligibility- every sanctioned league I've played in, the manager/captain takes the players' cards to the ref before the game to review for eligibility/hold on to in case of disciplinary action. How is it an amateur league is better run than a top tier FIFA tournament?

Happened in the UEFA Champions League Qualifiers recently too, so it isn't unheard of...

That example is more reasonable to understand because a clerical error was missed, and had the player been registered in the earlier matches they'd have counted as time served thus making him eligible. Last night's match had no method of showing eligibility because the player is cap-tied to France while trying to play in a FIFA top-tier tournament.

It's just a weird situation, and some of Guiana's petulant behavior could be due to unhappiness at not being a FIFA member and not being World Cup eligible. They can play in regional competitions, but not the World Cup or World Cup qualifiers. What's weird is that some regional competitions have to use FIFA rules and some don't. So the overlap is just strange.

25 minutes into the Panama game, Carmago is really showing well. He's nearly scored once and created some dangerous chances. On the other hand its clear that he's used to playing with better teammates than this Panama team, he's passed a few times into very dangerous spaces that teammates are simply not running into; places you'd see Villa or Harrison run into.

Noticed the same as in my half-watching of the half.

Our Quarterfinal is a 9 o'clock kickoff in Philly on Wednesday.
Our potential semi would kick off at 10:00
And our potential final would kick off at 9:30, also on a Wednesday.
What a joke.

Blake with what I must presume is a compound fracture to some part of his hand. Why show that Fox? You sick fucks.

Pretty amazing they kept the camera on him - not sure what the producer was thinking with the shot. Poor guy is going to be out for a very long time.

Jordon Morris with the win.

Sorry guys I blacked out about 8:30. Slept 3 hours the night before. Just woke up. Got to fall back asleep and be up at 4 am

Hard fought win. Jamaica looked pretty good this tournament. Hard to imagine that they didn't even make it to the Hex...

Pretty psyched that a Gold Cup victory was my first live USMNT game! Hopefully not the last trophy I watch them lift in my lifetime.

I remember hearing the announcers say towards the end of the game that Blake had gone for some scans/ X-rays which came back negative, so it looks like he may not have broken anything... somehow. Maybe just some sort of sprain or dislocated finger (or two)?
