Part of what made Wallace great early on was his connect with Mata. I'd be totally cool with going Camargo or Lewis at LW with Wallace being a 60 minute replacement until Matarrita gets back.
Wallace also scored when Harrison hit the post/crossbar. Right place, right time.
Speaking of which, Jack has hit woodwork at least 3 times this season. Had he not been snakebit, his goal tally would be outrageous.

Do you think it's possible that Pirlo will retire midseason and go take a coaching position with Ancelotti or whoever? I think I'd like it if he did.
Why would he give up $3mm in pay? The outstanding likelihood is that he will never make as much in a given year ever again, why give it up to make less money?
Its Pirlo, the coaching gig will be there for him next year as well.
You forget that he'd be dealing with an org that froze out Mix with zero regrets. $3M is a lot to make, but if Pirlo is given the same song/dance that Mix got, would he be willing to put up with doing everything asked of him while never starting, let alone making the 18? I think that as dedicated as he is, he's not going to simply practice for his $3M, especially because his career is coming to an end; he'd want to go out on his own terms, and if that's taking a coaching position to save his dignity.....
With that said, I *do not* think the club would be this vindictive to Pirlo because it'd send giant waves through the transfer market, but there is precedence for it. If the club wants Pirlo's DP slot, I have a feeling they'll mutually terminate the contract.
He'd give up $3MM in MLS salary, but I'm sure that CFG would be able to compensate him in some way in Europe when he moves back. Again, a suitcase full of gold bricks will show up to his vineyard or something.
I'm sure this has been brought up, but if you've ever said "Maxi isn't worth $2 million", you can go sit on it. He was really, really good.
He's getting better every week. He's going to break out for 4 goals in 3 games or something soon, and that will shut everyone up.

Rewatching the match one thing that stuck out to me was Wallace. I think he had his worst game for us so far. He had a lot of poor touches and was mostly invisible.
I shouldn't be making height jokes because I'm no Kareem myself but at the 5:07 mark I think that Higuain either can't see Maxi next to him or thinks that he is one of the kids.
Maxi has had two driving headed shots on target this year that nearly scored but the keeper caught. One of them will go in and we'll go wild.
