Cristiano Ronaldo To MLS?

Ronaldo is an Icon of Corruption in Sports

"Focus on the figure of the sports icon and you might see this as a story about one woman’s accusation against a successful man. Focus, however, on the sports star embedded in a deeply corrupt and exploitative system, you might see this as a story about the total lack of accountability for men who really and truly do not see themselves as like the rest of us—they see themselves as above the law, with good reason. For all intents and purposes, the people running soccer are.

"Corruption is so normalized in sports institutions it is hard to imagine what sports would be were this not true. What is the NCAA without the big, self-serving lie of amateurism? What is the NFL without its history of minimizing and disavowing player suffering? What do we do with the ubiquity of sexual assault in college football culture? With domestic violence in men’s professional sports culture? What do we do with MSU, USA Gymnastics, and the IOC—organizations which dismissed athletes complaints and nurtured athlete abuse? With the former Ohio State athletes who are demanding accountability from their own community?"

I can't see him not playing in Miami before he retires. He'll capitalize on his merchandise and wind up in an owner group with a team somewhere.

Miami will have Ronaldo and Suarez and we’ll have Medina, maxi & Mitri. I hope they can fix our DP situation by next season.

Article says they did it to take advantage of better federal court procedures for serving process on people outside the country. Makes sense.
Rumor is that Juventus has run tremendous interference to keep him unavailable to be served.

It's the same interference they run for anyone trying to get to any of their players. Its not special treatment for Ronaldo as far as I understand.
Pretty sure no other player on the squad has a worry about setting foot on US soil, and (not) surprisingly, Juventus has decided against any 2019 exhibition matches in the US. (Not) Shocking.

True, I dont agree with what Juve is doing in the slightest. but what i meant to say was they arent letting random people get to him at training, games, etc. the same they would be for any other player. If they want to get to him they gotta do it when hes not on Juve time.

In all seriousness, how much time does he have that is not dictated by Juventus or his soccer commitments? I’d think very little, between 11months a year, full days of training and sponsorship commitments, and the travel that goes with it. Juventus is the first and most important gatekeeper to being served.
