Is he suppose to be a depth signing? I remember when he was signed, but then I was checking the roster I saw #30 and had totally forgotten about him. If he is a left back by nature I wonder why we had White play fullback instead of him vs. Chicago

Yeah. I find myself wondering if he's going to end up in Wilmington before too long.

I think White played RB v. CHI. Still, we also have Shannon Gomez (RB), but he seems to be in the same category as Diego. The more we play 3 at the back the more obsolete these guys become, and the more I wish we had nailed down Teixeira when we had the chance.

With all the acquisitions in the back in surprised we are playing a back 3.

My hope is that PV is as smart as I think he is, and realizes that a CDM and more guys in the final 3rd means more possession, more early interceptions up the field, and less pressure on our D. Besides Mata I don't think we signed any really good defensive fullbacks, and our CB's are still meh, so try and control more of the game on the other side of the field and let off the pressure. Guys like Accam will still shred us with speed, but hopefully there's less shots on goal. We're lucky Oba isn't here anymore.

some LB's struggle to play RB if they are not very good with their right foot, i guess PV thought white would do better at RB than having a LB at RB

The guy is a real quality backup - he was contesting every physical challenge and overlapping with a nice cross. Not sure why he's been shelved for so much of the year???

Except when RJ has been playing at LB, which has been quite a few games recently.

Yeah. That's what I kept thinking. Martinez at LB would have solved a lot of our recent issues and allowed RJ to play in his natural RB spot. Not sure what PV was thinking. Maybe he didn't show well in practice and stepped it up this game.
