Ethan White [Defender]

In hindsight we stole him if all we actually traded was a 4th round draft pick.

He's reasonably cheap and can do the defensive job without any really heart stopping moments. I think the change of scenery has really helped his game and made him a player I really like having on the team.

If we can add a couple more Ethan White type players over the next year or two, NYCFC might just have reasonably respectable depth.

I like ethan white. But that is a clearly upgradable position.

I wonder if White's past ineptitude was because he's was always asked to play CB? That's a tough position to be good at (refer to NYCFC's trouble filling the spot), whereas RB is a bit more foregiving using the sideline as an extra defender. He's definitely still learning the position - better on the defensive side while still learning the nuances of transitioning to offense - but he's taken a huge step for his career because he's a very serviceable starter and at worst he could have a long tenure as a backup.

I really don't want to put pressure on an injury but if White is done we can kiss the cup goodbye. We will not win anything with RJ Allen starting.

During the game when the trainer walked off and talked to Vieira, I could tell he said "pop" and pretty much figured our season is over. A platoon of RJ and Mikey won't cut it. It really may be time to go three in the back and hope that trialist is a revelation.

I'm really surprised they had him walking to the locker room and not carried off.

Last year if someone said to me Ethan White getting injured would be what would end the season I would have called you crazy. White has worked so hard to be where he is right now I can't help but feel disappointed that his hard work means nothing now.

A little pessimistic aren't you guys? I mean, Villa getting hurt is the end of the season. Ring getting hurt is also likely the end of the season. We can survive without White. It sucks, but I don't see how considering the injuries we have that this is the one you think is the worst. RJ isn't that bad. Don't get me wrong, Ethan has been playing great. I just don't think RJ starting means we have no chance. Well, as long as we tie his arms down

RJ is really fucking bad. I don't think he's even good enough for USL.
