Euro Leagues In Tatters As Qatar '22 Set To Be Played In The Winter!

Fifa logic:
Let's have the world cup in a tiny country the size of Connecticut in the region with the most political turmoil in the world! It has no stadiums and 120 degree summer days! (Sounds like paradise to me!) What could possibly go wrong?

50 national leagues around the world will be affected including Europe, South America and Africa.

The African Cup of Nations is also due to start in January 2023. Where this leaves the ACN, who knows.

FIFA have already stated that AFCON will be played in June 2023.

Unless they have done a deal and have gained some massive incentive FIFA aren't CAF.
CAF refused point blank to move from January when Morocco said they wanted to delay for the Ebola problem.
They have already selected Guinea and January is in the dry season, June is in the middle of monsoon season.
It is not in their script to have it at any other time than January.
They were really reluctant to move the tournament to odd numbered years to accommodate the WC.

I'm aware of this, but Jerome Valcke in his press conference stated that the AFCON will happen in June. Maybe AFC made the decision and Valcke just publicised it. Maybe FIFA are trying to tell AFC what to do. Either way, Valcke announced it.

Which puts the tournament start date on November 17. National team camps will be open...mid-October? So for all purposes, and especially for leagues with a winter break, there won't be club football from mid-October until the beginning of January at the earliest. What a disaster.

I wonder what England will do with its Boxing Day schedule. How on earth do you hold a Champions League? Where on earth are you finding 2 and a half months to schedule matches?

God dammit they should have moved this thing AFC country. Japan, China, Korea and Australia can host this thing tomorrow.

Or you know if only there was a wealthy country that was growing in soccer popularity that already had preexisting infrastructure with hundreds of empty stadiums in the summer capable of hosting crowds of 60,000.
Look I feel you, but this is the AFC's turn I'm cool with them having it. But there are countries in the AFC that are better suited for hosting a world cup.
