Don't forget the round starts tonight.

There is going to be a lot of ties and HtoH decided by 1 or 2 points because most players are going to have the same 6 starters

I've forgotten whether, on average, it's good or bad to take a chance on players with DGW. I'll probably make the same mistake as last year

On average is better to use DGW players. If you have 8 players who average 4 points a game, but they play twice in the same week you will average 64 points. Replace those 8 players with guys who average 6 points a game, but only play once and you will average 48 points.

But if those 4 point/game players only play once or you pass up a chance to put someone who will get 12 points into your lineup in favor of a weaker player who has 2 games, you are worse off -- on average its better, but the top scorers for the week will probably include many players who play just one game.

I don't know how I feel about these friendly reminders. I mean half of my fantasy skills involve being diligent. The other half is luck. if you remind people to set their lineups I am screwed.

I don't want to win because other folks screwed up. I want to win because I am the luckiest best.

I've stoped paying attention to DGWs since players rarely play the full 90 in both. Except for keepers. But then again I keep losing this season, so what do I know?

There's no good answer to the DGW conundrum. It does seem that players are more likely to play big minutes in both games later in the season, which is an argument for not going DGW heavy this round. But you never know, and the lure is strong.

I'm almost always disappointed that I fall for the DGW trap. That said, I'm doing it again. Such is the life of a fantasy shmoe.

I didn't like many of the players on both teams that have DGW this week, so I went light on them. I added Godoy and as much as it pained me to do so, I added Wondo as well. I also have Cropper, but I'm keeping him on my bench.

I went long on DGW, but not all I could find. I have Godoy, who is pretty good at that price in a single game week. much less this week. I have Cropper, about which I feel nearly the same. I added Agudelo and Nguyen, who I wouldn't normally lead with, but are both productive at their positions and likely to go 90. I got a couple of cheaper SJ defenders and might start one.

Since NE is at home for both games, I am a little more optimistic about their players than the SJ players, particularly on offense.

Doubt many folks caught this in time to make a change (time stamp is 20 minutes before the New England/San Jose game kicked off):

Unlimited transfers can't help me now

Ouch. I'm probably counting on Nathan Smith to put some points up for me now...

The fact that you're starting Kappelhof makes me feel better that my auto sub is gonna be Michael Harrington

I like to play at least one hunch against the crowd. Can't stand out if we're all playing the same players.

I made a last minute switch thinking that SJ vs. NE wouldn't end 0-0 and that SJ facing Houston on the road wouldn't wise to stack them. Huge mistake.

"You will be able to see captain choices and final 11 for this team once the last match of the round has started."

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before, but it probably has. How annoying is this?! Like why can't i see his lineup once the first game is played? Why do i have to do math to figure out who my opponent started and capped?

I agree it's annoying but there is a reason for it.
Let's say you and I are matched H2H this week. Sunday morning I look and see I'm 6 points ahead with 3 games left. You and I each have Villa, Lodeiro, and a defender left to play. The defenders are different. The other difference is you captained Villa and I captained Lodeiro. So I switch and captain Villa, not because I change my mind and think he's a better choice but just because it takes away one way you can catch me. Now you can only catch me if your defender outscores mine by 6+ points. If we have different captains, even though we both have the same 2 players, it's harder for you to catch me.
But you go online and see what I did and you do the same, by switching to Lodeiro. Then we end up in a game of who can make the last switch before it locks when the NYC game lineups are released. That's just a stupid way to decide who wins and means a lot of time wasted by you and me.

ah i forgot that you can change the cap, stupid if you ask me. If you lock the roster you should lock the captain. I mean its not hard to figure out who you captained after a few games. 1st of all logic dictates you are capping a favorable matchup, 2nd I can still do the maths and see when your cap played or didn't play to a degree of certainty and whittle my guess down further.

And if it does come down to your scenario (btw the defender is superfluous information all you had to do was dueling captains and lock in the win by matching captains) then its not really fair to the guy who sets his team and goes off to do real life stuff vs someone who is a diehard fantasy player who is glued to their screens. Its tantamount to giving someone 1 free roster change post lock if say a surprise injury occurs or like your scenario he lucked into a guaranteed win by changing his lineup.
