A couple of observations that show good momentum for the club.

Our 3 lowest attendance figures were early in the year, in games 3, 4 and 6. 4th lowest is in Game 8.

If you ignore our big attendance games in the opener and against NJRB, 3 of our 4 biggest crowds have come in the last 3 games.

This is great! We are definitely trending upwards and hopefully we keep this momentum going. It's impossible to tell if this is permanent growth, or simply growth related to weather and the season progressing. Many teams in the league tend to draw better in the second half of the year as well. Let's hope that 26-28k is our standard base going forward and we don't start next year in the mid-low 20's.

Screw realistic expectations, let's get this hype train rolling! Low 30s average for next year that increases by the game!

#40kaverage by year 3.

In some ways this is why it's good that our stadium is taking a long time. Not sure they would've predicted we'd have 28,000 at most games. And next year it could go up (or down), so if it takes a few years to find a site we'll know if we'd be bummed with a 20,000 seat stadium or if we need a 35,000 seat one. I mean, Avaya Stadium opened just this year and only holds 18,000. I'd rather wait a few extra years and get one the right size. NJRB have a 22,000 seat stadium and maybe 10,000 season tickets sold, so that's not good either, but we do want to see how many of our 17,000 season ticket holders renew next year (or if we increase up to 20,000 over the winter perhaps).

Updated for Columbus game and added first half/last half analysis.

Good to see the fan support has not only stayed strong, but grown.

While I'm throwing out kudos, thanks to Gotham Gator Gotham Gator for keeping this running total on attendance.
It was defintely something I was interested in.

Is it correct to assume that games 1 and 9 are the games they opened additional sections for?
Were there other games?

Regardless, thanks again.

I think they opened additional sections for Columbus and Orlando, but not as many additional sections as they did for NJRB and the home opener. I could be wrong on that though.

New England, New Jersey and Orlando are the only games for which they opened the 300 level seats. For Columbus, they also opened more seats behind home plate, which is where they put some youth affiliate teams and other guests.

Does anyone know if they will be expanding capacity for the final home game?

What is impressive is how much the attendance rose as the season stretched along.

The second half of the season had almost 5,000 more per game than the first half. Our last 9 games had only one that wasn't a sellout and featured 4 of our 5 games with over 30,000 in attendance.

We also only had one game - a Thursday night against Philly - that was below the MLS average.

I think weather has a big impact on those stats haha

Thanks for pulling this together all season long. Great work!

Hey man, it was the one piece of consistent good news all season.

Your attendance thread was one of the ones threads , I always checked before and after a game. Great job thanks for keeping us informed and involved!

There are some question that are nagging me that I want to share with you and anyone that may want to share.

Last game attendance was given as 34,150.

In all honesty , I feel that is was a bit inflated number, In my humble opinion and doing eye count the stadium was not that full. From my view there were many empty seats. In fairness, I have to mention , that I did an eye scan to the last top level was full and normally that is closed and empty. I have also observed that for the Red bulls game that level was full and a few other games it had been opened too.

1- is 34,150 is the numbers of tickets/seats that were sold and that is what is publicly acknowledged?
2- is attendance statistics is based on numbers of tickets sold and not actual body mass present at the stadium?

And last observation is the weather conditions and low interest on the game since NYCFC was already out of playoffs, may have affected actual body mass present and the actual tickets sold.
