Disappointing for sure. But I'm a NYCFC fan, not just a Lampard fan. It's not the end of the world.

We will get through it. If you look at it objectively it won't make a difference 5 years from now.
Problem with loaning out DP's is that you can't replace him with another DP for the first half of the season. So effectively hamstringing (is that a word?) the club.
You are right and I am a bigger fan of the name on the front than the name on the back but this sets an AWFUL precedent
The one way to make this shit worse would be sending him here after the EPL season. That would ensure he was forever unliked. I'd rather him never come if that's when we get him.
If they did something like send him here on that timeline, it would be the most humiliating start imaginable. It would be a massive insult to us and the entire league, confirming that we are truly a scheme for subverting FFP. Even if they didn't have that intention, if that's how they use this club, what is the difference?
Spoiler: there wont be one difference. I don't know if this will happen, but it's absurd that there is this level of mystery surrounding it. CFG can blame themselves, and themselves alone.
