We under appreciate all sorts of things. Not anymore.
    1.
First spoonful of JIF pb after opening a new jar. It's amazing.

    2.
Truly fresh loaf of bread - bake date, not expiry based

    3.
New sack of UTZ chips. Would tell y'all about Golden Flake Sweet Heat, but ain't worth wasting my time.

Actually, though, I love a fresh sack of hot UTZ, too. I just love a damn fried potato. Seasoning is just fucking salad dressing. Don't care much what it is, but you must have it. That said, hot ass bbq flavoring on a crisp is pretty much nirvana.

I will have more delights headed your way, as I hope you have headed mine. Let's improve each others' lives. You pricks.

This whole Midas gratitude journal is in itself a gem of life.

It's gems all the way down. Or up. And up?

In some seriousness though, what are the limitations? Unheralded, widely accessible and universally delightful?

I'm honestly all about gratitude journaling and meditation. Micro-positivity and presence are free and also add value to everything else. I bet if you meditated before housing a bag of those chips you would agree with me.

If you say the word meditate to me again, I may have to kick your ass.

eta: (winky-face, just in case someone fails to grasp that I'm making a joke.)

    1. The hour long burst of extra evening daylight the week after DST starts is pretty sweet.
    2. I almost never use a blanket when I first go to bed because I tend to being naturally warm. But if I wake up in the middle of the night that often changes, due to my body temp dropping during deep sleep and the house getting cooler. Then drawing up the blanket when you have that bit of chill in your body feels like magic.
    3. Later in Spring, when the days get long enough that it's light out not just when I leave work but when I get off the subway in Queens and I do the 20 minute walk home instead of taking the bus cause it's warm and light and beautiful.
    4. Nothing beats taking a walk after a good dump.
And of course Conan knows what is good in life:

    1. When you're driving home from work on a Friday and "Africa" by Toto comes on the radio.
    2. Sipping coffee on a Saturday morning, sitting on the couch, and putting on the Bundesliga (or PL) after a night out with friends.
    3. First spoonful of Nutella, oil just seeps into the hazelnut spread and deliciousness in every scoop.
    4. Sitting down at Augustiner-Keller under the massive chestnut trees as the sun sets, with a stein of Augustiner Weissbier, massive freshly baked pretzel, and a bratwurst after exploring the city of Munich.

If you enjoy delicious, cold, and refreshing beer, you'd love it. Beer heaven.

Awesome. This is exactly what I’m looking for.

Might I recommend People Socks from Brooklyn, available via Amazon. Good price, excellent quality. I’m pretty much wool exclusively, unless it’s “dress socks”.

    Sriracha and kewpie mayo.

Vegemite 1 part to 3 parts butter (or Smart Balance).

The white noise of a football match in the background as I'm grinding my morning coffee. Those poor Europeans who have to watch soccer in the afternoon are really missing out.

Morning light and evening light and long shadows. Why?

The pandemonium of Balkan brass band music.

Are you unhappy because they put L and R on them? I feel like there's very little difference but having the L and R mixed up or doubled kills me. One of those cases where any extra functionality is far less beneficial than all of the failure modes associated with it.

    1:3 what sorcery is this??????

On topic, seeing older people running into friends on the sidewalk or sitting in diners catching up

Looking up somewhere you’ve been a thousand times and seeing an architectural detail you never noticed before

    And dogs
