First, it says that RJ Allen will be suspended for Saturday's game vs. Philadelphia. Either DisCo is letting him play on Wednesday, or MLS just has terrible writers and researchers.

Okay, Allen looks like his arm is hitting Garza's face, but Garza's does down like a *****.

Mears was just fined for putting his hand to the face of Ethan White during the game. There's no consistency in the refereeing or in DisCo. It's just bullshit.

How about that nasty studs up challenge by Almiron on Ring that left Ring on the floor? No yellow was shown for that. And no DisCo. Bullshit.

I like the idea of the Discipline Committee, but it turns into Clown College half the time.

Garza is holding Allen from making a run, and Allen is just trying to break free. I don't get it.

Studs tackle was a red card

With RJ out, and if Khiry, Pirlo and Matarrita are not back, then I count only 17 non-keepers available for Wednesday. We need 16 for the game day lineup. Vieira will have only 1 decision to make (again, assuming none of the wounded return).

D, M or F is based on their official designation, not where we actually use or could use them.

Available
Awuah M
Brillant D
Callens D
Camargo M
Chanot D
Harrison M
Lewis F
Lopez M
McNamara M
Mena D
Moralez M
Okoli F
Stertzer M
Sweat D
Villa F
Wallace F
White D

Out
Allen D
Gomez D
Herrera M
Matarrita D
Pirlo M
Ring M
Shelton F

Mena? Looks like we have 16 non-keepers available. Though Gomez isn't listed as injured. So it's back to 17. We need a RB replacement to White and that's Gomez, right? So Lewis is the one that gets the ticket in the family section?

Total brain cramp by me on Mena, but Gomez is out. See this and the next several posts in the same thread from just this morning:

So back to 16 players for 16 spots, unless Vieira puts all 3 keeprs in the lineup.

True, but he's not on the injury report and hasn't been all season. If he was placed on the season ending injury list, that would have been reported. Still, I get it and that he won't be in the 18.

Eirik should play striker. 6'7" would finally give us a chance to score off a corner. Or he's too tall and it would just sail over the crossbar.

He shouldn't be, but Peter Crouch is masterful with the header and volley. Eirik can be our Crouch.

Will be interesting to see if PV goes full rotation here and throws out a clunky line-up because of the limited depth or if he plays the same line-up on Wednesday and Saturday.

If there was ever a time to see Lewis get an opportunity, it's now.

I was wondering the same regarding how he's going to approach it with our lack of players available. I hate throwing away games, but there is an argument to be made of why jeopardize both games when Saturday will see a better strength squad available.

That said, I hope he plays to win tonight by adjusting our lineup/tactics to fit the personnel available. This is when he can show as a coach he is flexible and able to adapt. Move some pieces around, maybe play a bit more direct on the counter, and for once outcoach the opponent. He better play to win, because it's a damn midweek game with questionable weather, my wife is actually excited to go for once (after work is an easier sell with a beer and burger), and we can't afford to drop any home points.

I just had to bail due to two sick kids, so history suggests perfect weather, a thrilling win, a golazo, and most likely free beer for everyone. Enjoy.

this game is much different than the SLC game, imo. NE hasn't won on the road yet and we're at home, near sea level. I'd really be shocked to drop any points tonight, and a middling squad (with Villa and Harrison) should be able to do it.

I am going to be there in person, which suggests the same.*

* - games I've missed include Red Bull Wedding, Toronto playoff game, this year's loss to Orlando, and last year's loss to RSL. I haven't attended an MLS game we've lost since home to Columbus in August 2015.

Put me in the very fearful camp. Who is going to play CDM? Ring is out. Lopez? hahahahahahahahahah.

Its got to be route 1, long balls all day.

Bench: Yugo, JLew, Camargo, Stertzer, Ooh Ah!, Brilliant!, Lurch

Keep it straightforward. No need to go out of our way to rest anyone since we are already resting Ring and might get Matarrita or Pirlo back for the next game. We might not be able to rest anyone even if we wanted to.

I am happy to have Tommy in the midfield. New England is hardly MLS 3.0, so I think he can be very effective.
