Or play central mid Jack Harrison as a central mid and Winger Jonathan Lewis as a winger
That's been the obvious move for the last game and before, but PV hasn't pulled the trigger to initiate it, so I'm taking his actions as an indication he's not considering it. I wouldn't care if it is Harrison or Lewis, just no more TMac.

They were considering it in the off-season. They view Jack and Maxi as CAMs. They don't want Jack any deeper.

Hearing Jonathan Lewis didn't even make the team for Stertzer camargo and Okoli
That would be grounds for impeachment.

Seriously, JLew was fantastic against Philly, and quite promising against NYRB. Stertzer was abominable, and Camargo has been quite bad. Okoli not great either. His not being on the 18 would be incredibly stupid, unless it is a disciplinary issue.

He can't be. and I have heard he works very hard in training and is just a happy camper all the time.

Jack Harrison's skill set has screamed CAM to me from day 1. I would love to see him play what I believe is his natural position. This is the logical spot, a guy can dream.
Yeah. I think he's been a little lackluster in the middle, but it's usually at the end of games and it takes a lot of re-programming to play in the middle after hugging the line for so long now. I'd like to see him start to log minutes there and see what he can really do.

Interesting, because wasn't it rumored that last year it took so long to change the armband because Villa was superstitious? Which would also explain his fascination for long sleeves this year

I recall a tweet from the kitman saying that it was because the first batch of the new armbands didn't fit right, so they had to reorder.

Crap weather again tomorrow. It's going to mess with attendance numbers again I'm sure.

Hot and rainy. Bad combo.

Saturday
A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Areas of fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 82. Light east wind becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

I'm seeing a much better forecast:

No guarantees, of course.

I am very bothered by early weekend matches during double game weeks. We play Wednesday night and then we're the earliest game on Saturday so they can turnover the field for the Yankees. It's a competitive disadvantage.

Minor clarification... last time Ring and Hererra played together, Ring was the DMid shielding the back line with Hererra playing box to box. That's how he got 1G/1A in the game. Probably stay with that arrangement.

Here's a novel idea.... if Pirlo can't go and has to sub out, what about making Lewis the defacto Poor-man's Silva? I'm pretty sure in the u20 tuneup games I saw him play in, he was pulling Some strings from the middle and arcing to either corner to make the centering cross. Let him pick up the ball in a withdrawn position and with the movement our front line usually makes with Villa swinging left, it could open up a lane for Lewis to race straight at goal with the CB shadowing Villa. Even if he doesn't play a lick of D, I'd take his speed and dribbling in the middle over TMac any day of the week.
I've never seen Lewis play anywhere except wide. He may drift into open space more centrally from time to time, but that's far different from starting there.

You'd be better off putting Jack in the central area, but I doubt PV would do it.

Lewis is too slight and inexperienced to handle the middle of the pitch.

ETA: And now I see many others have registered this same complaint. So yeah! That goes double for me! Or something. Frankly, I would live with anything that leaves out Ucubed and Sal.
