Yup. funny, I was reviewing the schedule/results on OneFootball app and that game isn't there. Must have been that unremarkable to not even show up, hehehe.

So it's seven games, not six - but the point remains the same. This team is amazing from about minute 25 to 80 but awful beginning and end.
How annoying. I sometimes use a site called statbunker which has tons of useful stats and ways to dissect stuff, but it also just omits certain games occasionally. Drives me nuts.

with the slower style Chicago plays, giving the opportunity to give some players some rest after last nights game, and please lets not start tommy again, i think we realistically see Pirlo in the starting 11.

This. The only reason I can think that PV seriously would leave Pirlo on the bench for Mikey Lopez is that he is starting Pirlo in the game against Chicago.

I'm not on Team Pirlo but I also thought he would have been a better sub last night. And PV always causes trouble when he manages for the next game instead of the one that's happening right now.

In the last six games, NY drew two and lost one. In those 3 games, NY surrendered goals in the 86th, 88th, and 90th minute. Dropped a total of five points in those games (2 wins turned to ties and one tie turned to a loss).

Remember that graphic about NYCFC not conceding a goal in the final 15 minutes of a game? Team has gone from being lock down to a total calamity.
NYCFC: best team in MLS the middle 70 minutes of a match.

Beautiful 74 degrees here in Sunnyvale

Forecast for Saturday has spiked from 86 a couple days ago today's prediction of 93. Wonder how this affects roster and strategy. You have to think Chicago has an edge since they didn't have a midweek game.

I was honestly surprised there wasn't a water cooling break on Wednesday. If there isn't one on Saturday then those machines that check the overall weather score are broken.

New York City v Chicago Fire
Yankee Stadium (2:00PM ET)
REF: ALLEN CHAPMAN
AR1: Kyle Atkins
AR2: Gianni Facchini
4TH: Alex Chilowicz

Allen Chapman has not referred a match for either NYCFC or Chicago this season.

And considering the extreme mess on Wednesday, he better do his job well.

We DO NOT have the ability to park the bus. We've discussed this before. Last night's game called for Lewis and Okoli. We got White and Lopez.

Our entire structure is built around possession. We went from dominating the match to booting the ball down the field to a our 5'7" striker. Stupid.

Chicago has been a really treat to watch this year. Schweingster has been integrated very well into their team after moving him deeper. They have shown the ability to play multiple formations although the 4231 has been their best.

I think we have a lot to be concerned about. Chicago did not have to play a mid day game this week. Accam is arguably the best LW in the league. They are very good on the counter. Right side of the defense is going to get burned regardless of who we put out there. If our CBs are drawn outside, its going to open gaps for Nikolic. Guy can finish and hold the ball.

Injury Report
NYCFC

OUT – Miguel Camargo (4-5 months), Ronald Matarrita (3-4 months), James Sands (5 Weeks+), Khiry Shelton (?), Rodney Wallace (4 weeks+)
QUESTIONABLE – Maxime Chanot (osteitis pubis inflammation causing him discomfort)

Chicago Fire*

OUT – John Goossens, Jorge Bava, David Arshakyan
QUESTIONABLE - Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matt Polster

WE. ARE. FUCKED.

I was walking around the stadium in warmups on Wednesday and did see Chanot go down in warmups that required medical attention.

Sands is out now for 5+ weeks as well? I guess he's not going to that U17 camp then.

So what does our 18 look like?

Starters: Johnson | Sweat, Callens, Brillant, White | Ring, Herrera, Moralez | Lewis, Villa, Harrison
Bench: Johansen, McNamara, Okoli, Lopez, Allen, Awuah, Pirlo

Stands: Stertzer, Rawls
Injured: Matarrita, Wallace, Camargo, Sands, Chanot, Shelton

We literally have no centerback depth, at all. Who is going to be a backup: Lopez? Are we going to have to recall Mena from loan?

Would bet Chanot plays considering importance of game, considering he played last time he was listed as questionable.

Starters: Johnson | Sweat, Callens, Chanot, White | Ring, Herrera, Moralez | McNamara, Villa, Harrison
Bench: Johansen, Lewis, Okoli, Lopez, Allen, Brillant, Pirlo

Would rather see Lewis get a run from the start, but PV loves Tommy.

well the latest reports do say he is unhappy in ecuador for not getting playing time

Logic aside, this feels like a game we somehow win handily. I am cyber guaranteeing a win (subject to my deleting this post if we don't).
