I’m a bitch when it comes to cold, so I’m having real reservations at this point.

It’s not so much during the game that kills me. It’s that for 3 days after, I might as well be bedridden given what it usually ends up taking out of me.

Probably just means I have to avoid scheduling anything important until late this week.
Go buy hand warmers and feet warmers. Dress in layers. Consider the hot chocolate instead of cold beer. Bring that fleece nycfc blanket you bought last season. Friends don’t lets friends be cold bitches.

Could’ve just said “I’m over 30”

JFC Midas, man up. Here's my weekend so far. Flew to Detroit Friday night. Drive to Ann Arbor, during which rental car tire blows out at 11pm. Wait an hour on the shoulder of I-94 for roadside service to come at midnight in 20º temps. Get to hotel almost 1 am and get five hours sleep. Walk 7.8 miles on Saturday during campus visit in 30º cold. Fly back last night, home at 11pm. Lose an hour to DST. Mass this morning. I'm 56. I'm going tonight.

SO im guessing your kid now wants to pass on Michigan? Gotham Gator and my advice is to send them to Gainesville Florida. The high today is 70. Even a redneck from Mississippi will tell you how beautiful Gainesville is; tell him Midas Mulligan Midas Mulligan

I won’t say Gainesville is a crappy town (but you can probably tell where I’m going with this). If relocating to Florida, Tallahassee is the better city for college and raising kids (or being raised).

Oh where to start. First, if a student has the academics to go to Michigan, they would want to go to a top 10 public school, not a clown college.

Second, Tallahassee is not nearly as safe or as nice as Gainesville. It is the capital of Florida and has a much higher crime rate. Gainesville is truely a college town.

Third, the corruption among the politicians, police, and school is well documented. The Campbell family run that town. If you don't believe me, read the NY Times lovely pieces on FSU.

Now if you said something like this, "I won’t say Gainesville is a crappy town (but you can probably tell where I’m going with this). If relocating to Florida, Tallahassee is the better city for picking up incredibly hot women, who make up for their lack of intelligence with there looks and whore-like qualities."

You can start here and click through all the states. Quality of life is definitely higher in Gainesville. https://www.bestplaces.net/compare-cities/tallahassee_fl/gainesville_fl/people

Wow, that’s a hit job by you. I never said anything about Michigan, going or not going, so please refrain from making it point #1 as if I dismissed the quality of the school.

You’re also conflating a city and schools with a football program, and btw, every NCAA Division one school has player issues regarding run ins with the law - if you want to cite FSU, you’re doing a disservice by not citing Florida too because they have had a serious number of run ins with the law. The NYTimes threw hatchet pieces at FSU, which they’re free to do, but all of their coverage was one-sided and as of yet, Winston hasn’t been convicted of anything while his accuser went through multiple different stories, retracting one and putting forth the next. And if that’s a reason not to go to a school then your taking football too literally in your decision. Again, that has zero bearing on quality of schools and towns.

And lastly, if you want to throw shade around like your bold-faced text, fine, but since you grew up in Miami, or went to school in Miami, I don’t remember which, it’s a bold statement for you to be slinging mud.

I grew up in Tallahassee, and I’m well aware of it’s qualities - that you didn’t touch on save for low hanging fruit which doesn’t make for a real discussion, and it was an fantastic city to be raised in, but thanks for trying to explain it all to me. I doubt GothamGator is offended by my comment as FSU/Florida fans have a justified rivalry, and if he does, he’s free to raz me back, but your comments were way out of line.

Most of that was me joking around with what i assume is an FSU fan. The conversation was about him taking his kid on a tour of Michigan. And if we are talking about where to send out kids to school, i would 100% not send them to FSU if they can get into Michigan. Michigan>UF>FSU. And as a father, I would not send my daughter to FSU if that was the best school they got into. While all football teams have run in with the law. When a Florida player was falsely acused of rape, the school suspended him from classes and football for the semester until the legal matter was handled. FSU and school police helped cover it up and then suspended the player for 1 quarter. And yes Tallahasee outside the downtown area and the school is very nice and a great place to raise a kid (similar to haile plantation).

But if we are comparing the two cities, the crime and the school in Tallahassee is a very big negative. I grew up in Parkland Florida. Not exactly Miami and the safest town in Florida, which until last week nobody had ever heard of.

I apologize if I offended you. Next beer is on me at Stan's?

Actually the visit increased Michigan in her estimation. She applied and was accepted early without having to commit. This allowed her to drop applications to about 5 safety schools below Mich in her personal ranking. She's now waiting to hear from 4 other schools, all super-elite in name and admission percentage. Her assumption had been that if she got into any of them Mich was toast. Then she saw what Big Blue has to offer. She's going into engineering, and it's hard for any northeast school, no matter how elite or highly endowed with funding, to match the physical plant Michigan has and that is so important to an engineering school. Michigan has everything on offer. Everywhere else has to compromise. She's going to have to decide what she values more.
Also, she did joke that she made a mistake by not applying to any warm weather schools, but it's too late to do anything about that.

Pretty surprised this isn’t nationally televised. NYC v LA used to be a big ticket game.

The 2nd game on Sunday is usually televised by FOX/FS1. Today they have Motorcycle Racing and Monster Jam from the 5 - 7:30 PM time slot.

FOX didn't have a nationally televised game this week.

It's also Championship Sunday and brackets are coming out tonight.

Money 's tight had to cut my cable bill in half lost Yes and Fox sports I'm very depressed with life

Going by the clear bag that came in the supporters kit, is that the new policy? Are only clear bags allowed now?

Good luck to her and to you and Mom also. You have to be super proud with her options. P.S. - Lehigh is great for engineering and closer to home. :)

Apology accepted, no beer is needed.
