Anyone know yet what colors the teams are wearing? I want to (finally) wear my long sleeved black keeper jersey but I also don't want to match DCU if they're in their usual black either. It's a dilemma!

I received 3 different emails the last few days trying to entice me to come because of Wayne Rooney...Shouldn't I come for NYCFC?
Interesting enough, they've advertised that tickets are selling quickly and there are limited tickets left. Maybe they really want a sellout.

There are still tickets in a lot of sections on the club website, ranging from just a few to 20ish, so they’ve done a pretty good job of selling, but Stubhub has a ton of tickets listed, and all for super cheap, starting at $14. So unless there is a mad rush today for the resale market, there will likely be a lot of open seats.

They need it.

You can do both?

Sure you can and it will be nice to see him play, but it's lame that the team needs to sell tickets by using another player. I thought we were the big team in MLS. Guess we still need names to sell tickets and that's why are crowds are spotty.

They used to announce it on the MLS site, and LionNYC LionNYC used to post it here. He hasn't done so in a while and I can't find it now. But maybe Lion can shed some light.

But my contrast and color sense, for whatever it's worth, is that DC's black is a better contrast to our blue than any other combo. Their secondary kits are white, which is a very a poor contrast to our light blue, even with the red and grey accents on their kits. If we wear our greys, which I doubt, neither of their kits seems like a good contrast.

The team used to post it on social media, they no longer do. Sometimes it would be posted on the game guides, it also no longer is. https://www.mlssoccer.com/media-resources/game-guides

I’d guess blue vs black since it’s a nationally televised game, CFG wants City in blue.

Every big team in MLS uses big names to market games. Saying that we shouldnt use Wayne Rooney to market the DC game, especially his first appearance in Yankee satdium, is needlessly masochistic.

Wow people are actually going to show up... Is Rooney that much of a draw?
It's really hard to speculate on hypotheticals, but if I wasn't already a season ticket holder I might get a ticket to see Rooney play. Watched him for years in the EPL, idly followed his career, saw the Roger Bennett special on him last season, etc. Would probably go. Similarly, would have definitely gone to see Lampard, Pirlo, and looking forward to seeing Zlatan.

Not counting the controversies, which are possibly limited to us on the board, was really happy to have Lampard and Pirlo on the team and to have been able to see them play in person. And even if Villa's slowing down, which is not at all even certain, it's been an honor to be able to see him play for all these years.

Soccer fans over here have been able to see Rooney on TV for years, and now you can see him in person. So yeah, I'd say he's definitely a draw.
