Dude is the Gold Standard. When he was first hired, my reaction was "why do we need an Englishman to call our national team's games!" Then I heard him, and realized "oh, because he is fucking great."
him commentating the belgium game in 2014 was amazing, He's really world class.

Jack Harrison starting for Manchando City SC tonight in the prestigious ICC.

Whoopty doodooo.

Did they drive to Yankee Stadium at first?

Also, Liverpool stayed at the Hilton in a Short Hills, NJ. I’d think City stayed in the city.
I have no idea. Liverpool had hell getting here too. Spent 8 hours on the tarmac.

I can't believe people still pay big money to go to these glorified exhibition games

To be fair, some good deals available this afternoon.

And really, despite feeling the same way, I’m sitting here questioning why I didn’t suck it up to pay just to see Salah and Mane (or Sane for a neutral - or hell, a non-neutral like me). The pace and skill is worth it.

If you got a deal that's one thing I just hear about people paying $200 or more for one ticket that seems crazy to me.

I agree. And I didn’t go either. But I paid $500 for champions league seats where I couldn’t see shit very well. I don’t begrudge anyone. The clubs want to make it, some folks want to pay it. Makes sense to them, so whatever.

Well it is an exhibition (preseason) game and just like any other sport, it's terrible. I personally wouldn't spend more than $50. Especially with a lot of players staying back after the WC. I prefer to watch at home and see the 18-20 year old unknowns trying to show something.

I’ll admit it - I went. And I’m still on the train coming back into Queens. But I’m easy to please, and I got my goals from Salah* and Mané, so it was worth it. Maybe if I had a better sense of whether I could actually get to Anfield at some point in the future I would have reconsidered, but for now this will do.

*Fine, maybe it was a little offside whatever I don’t care it’s still real to me MO SALAH MO SALAH MO SALAH RUNNIN’ DOWN THE WING

I got tickets at 5pm today for $30 in the upper deck -- one of these days I'll make my way across the pond for a real game. Until then, this will have to suffice.

Metlife's parking situation is a disaster, though -- I got there at 7:10, didn't get to my seat until 8:30 because of how backed up the parking line was.

What gets me are the people who would shell out $100-200 for that hot mess and then turn up their noses at paying $30 for an MLS ticket.

The quality of play is loads higher at most of our home games, the fans are more engaged, and there are stakes at play - the game, you know, actually matters.

Sometimes the play isn't that much higher tbh.

Sometimes, true. Last night being a good example. But tell me that either of our Atlanta matches weren't an order of magnitude above the level of play at any of the Man City matches this month.

I am certainly not saying that we are near the usual level of the EPL, but that's not what's on offer at the ICC matches, especially this year.
