We have a week off. Will they still miss any games?

Idk. You'd think they might rest ring and chanot when they get back since they have to travel back and forth to Europe. Not sure how far the others are traveling.

I would be surprised. European clubs don't rest their N/S American players when they return from internationals so I see little need for it to happen the other way around, especially since we're at home after the break.

I would have thought the national team pays for transport - but maybe we could help with an upgrade
The federations do pay for it. And I am pretty sure the US puts them in first class, so I'd assume most countries do. But then I consider what teams we're talking about...

Do MLS rules prevent us sending players 1st class to their national team matches? I'm sure there's an Etihad flight we could make him very comfortable on.

National teams do pay. The USMNT always flies 1st Class/Business so they can lie flat and sleep. Would think it's absolutely standard practice for all top federations.

I'm not too sure about Finland being a top federation. Haven't done too much nor been in a major tournament ever in their history, unless you think Olympic soccer counts. He did get picked up in a large, black SUV, so maybe they are putting some money into his travels (source: instagram video, I think?).

When I said "top" federation, I should have been more specific that it was in reference to federations that aren't liable to have a Zero bank balance while existing from shady FIFA hand out to shady FIFA hand out.

FYI Ring told me that he will only play the first game with Finland and will travel back to NYC afterwards so he's not playing in the second game (friendly).

Chanot said he hasn't spoken with Vieira yet but isn't sure if he stays for one game or both.

This is good news. Players who play both games and then have to travel back are usually not available for the weekend game. Especially if the travel is back and forth to Europe / SA. Means that Ring might be able to start next weekend.

Btw, Finland recently sacked Hans Backe, a Swede who used to coach New Jersey Energy Drinks for some years.

He also worked at Manchester City for a year, too, if you are commenting on his links (positive and negative) to us. Granted that was in the pre-CFG days though.
