MONSTER Hurricane.
All my family is in the tampa Bay Area and people started prepping this weekend.
Wherever this thing hits it's going to be really bad. Worst case scenario is it squeaks by Florida and goes into the gulf.
Right now they're expecting it going by Haiti/Dominican/Cuba to weaken it to a 4 but if it gets into the gulf it would strengthen back up to a 5 and grow even more powerful due to the high water temps. Just like Harvey went from a tropical depression to a cat 3 in 2 days.
Also would hate to see it hit the Louisiana area again. I think we could better handle it in Florida. Took 4 hurricanes in 2004 and we managed.

I live in Miami. I'm really not in the mood for this.

I stocked up on water, gas and canned goods on Saturday. It's a good thing because there is. O water in stores and gas lines are around the block.

Can confirm Publix is pulling every resource possible to make deliveries to South East stores ASAP. You will see trucks on the road day and night to restock stores.
I work in management for them and have family in corporate leadership.

I have family in Miami - my brother, an aunt and several cousins. They have been through a lot of hurricanes, but this one has them shook. My aunt is 93, so we are all worried about her.

My buddy in Boca just posted Costco there is out of water.
 
This weather is so crazy. So much happening in the world right now that it's hard to find peace in all the chaos.

Best wishes for all of the people of Florida. Let's hope this thing changes for the better.

The crazy part is if Florida misses the worst of it, I've seen models where there is a chance it goes right for Houston, albeit, those scenarios are much more unlikely at this point in time.

NYCFC_Dan NYCFC_Dan You know Boss what ever differences we have with each other means nothing !! Your Family's Safety and property loss is No Joke !! Please know I hope everything will be okay . It must be hard not to just jump in your car and go down . But being in VA maybe a plus if it gets bad at least you have a place for them . This is very scary . Best of Luck for your Family !!!

I actually live in Virginia but all my family and friends are down there. They live about 100 miles west of Orlando on the west coast. Slightly north of Tampa.
Great that you're all doing that tho! I'm sure it will come in handy for many.
