Israeli Football Association ההתאחדות לכדורגל בישראל

Almost anyone in Israel? Have you lived there mate? Because I've attended one too many funerals of neighbors and neighbors children and I'll be damned if I hear someone blame our people for it. It's like blaming the US government for 9/11, which if you do is fine, but if not it's hypocritical. Here I was thinking this would be a chat about Israeli soccer be it their league their players or their national team, not a palestinian cuck fest
The Likud party has done wonders for the Israeli economy but definitely has corruption problems. I'm really not a fan of the settlements but I would say I'm fairly right-wing in terms of politics(I support a Maccabi club). I'll be honest in the one year I lived in Israel I was an "edgy" 14 year old and the times I've visited I didn't really do much exploring past Tel Aviv, Herziliya, and Haifa. I do plan on moving back though when the time is right. עם ישראל חי

You blame 1967, but actually the year 1974 is very significant. It was after the Yom Kippur War of 1973 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_Kippur_War). A surprise attack launched by Syria and Egypt on the holiest day of the year when all Jews are fasting. Isreal was able to fend them off and that's when Arab nations started to focus on PR campaigns and UN (and FIFA) resolutions as a way to destroy Israel.

Also very interesting to note: the Israeli Football was called the Palestinian football association from 1929-1948, even though it was made up of Jewish, Arab and British (stationed soldiers) players. "Football has a long tradition in Israel. The game was originally introduced during the time of the Ottoman Empire. The Palestinian Football Association was formed in August 1928, and joined FIFA in June 1929, but at the time the association was made up of Arab clubs, Jewish clubs, and clubs representing British policemen and soldiers serving in the region during the British Mandate rule that spanned the period between World War One and the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. The British Mandate of Palestine national team made its debut against Egyptin 1934 FIFA World Cup qualification, losing 1–7 in Cairo. The team played five international matches, including a friendly match against Lebanon, until the British Mandate for Palestine was dissolved.". https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_national_football_team

I won't take the last part any further, because it could go way off scope. But I will end by saying that all Israeli citizen arabs (Christian, Druze, and Muslim), as well as LBGT all have the same rights in Israel as any other citizen. This includes playing for the Israeli national team. Case in point Bibras Natcho (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bibras_Natkho). Unfortunately, the same freedoms cannot be found in any neighboring Arab nation.
You stated factually incorrect information and I was correcting you. I don't see what any of this has to do with the fact Israel is not apart of the Asian Confederation today in part because of actions by its neighbors and in part because of the nation of Israel has taken itself.

I don't think the common Palestinian gives two shits about the equality that Arabs have in Israel that they will never see.

My whole original point was this is unique to Israel. And FIFA allowing it is hypocritical. Why not force Serbia to play in Africa? Chile and Argentina hate each other, maybe one should play in Oceana? Moving Israel from one confederation to another because of political diffences completely contradicts FIFA's basic premise of football over politics bringing people closer together. We don't need to argue facts, and you were correct to point out my mistake. But I bet we can agree on this point. And then we have to ask why?

Could give two shits what 234 thinks of me, actually I can't. Glad to know you know me well enough to make that judgement call, good to know. You're the one that started making this thread political to begin with, with your faux attempt at playing devils advocate. One side was represented, I represented the other side and said let's end it there. How you gonna come into a thread about my country and tell me to fuck off lol. Best part is, you did literally nothing so i don't even know what your point is

Notice how I asked politely to go back to this threads original reason - to discuss Israeli soccer. Maybe not politely, but regardless. But nah that wouldn't suit you would it, talking soccer on a soccer thread? Nah let's bash the country while pretending to maintain neutral ground by saying things like "oh both sides are wrong" while pointing out the wrongs done by one side. Come off it mate, this isn't the fucking UN. It's meant to be a light soccer forum, would it absolutely kill you to treat it as such?

Now anyone want to talk zahavis dismissal or are we gonna gather the pitchforks to let me know how I'm a baby killer citing CNN and BBC?

I mean his frustration about the loss leading to not qualifying is BS. They are in a group with Italy and Spain. There was never a chance. Poor draw. The booing I get. But tossing your armband isn't the way to show your disappointment. Maybe he's thinking he's off to China, so fuck all this shit.

Guy is the top scorer in China and he's making ridiculous amount of money so I guess, but he's not wrong. 40 years without 40 more without. I think he was triggered by the jeering but I mean the team selection was ass and they played like ass how you lose to Macedonia and pretend you had a chance

At home no less. And it could have easily been 2-0 if that 1st goal wasn't called back by the offsides

The second goal looked offside too but I'm biased so idk if it was lol. But there's no team. Ben Haim (CB) is old as fuck. Benayoun is old as fuck. We have no goalie and no defenders. Refaelov is good but again, he's done. Ben haim (winger) is good, zahavi is great... but that's not enough. They aren't zlatan or bale good where they can elevate the entire team

am I the only person in this thread that supports Palestine?

Amer Shafi is one hell of a keeper for their national team. 140 caps and still going strong.
