Jack Harrison [Midfielder]

Interesting conclusion:

Vieira also has no question Harrison could, and should, be part of England’s U-20 setup.

“To be honest I’m quite surprised we have not been approached by the FA for Jack,” Vieira said. “Knowing the level in England I don’t have any doubt Jack can play easily in the Under-20.”

Apparently Jack being born in November 1996 makes him too old to be in the current U20 cycle. That's likely why he wasn't brought into the camp for England.

It's official.

Actually, Jack likes all of Kellyn's posts. Even the one of him grabbing the FCD badge after scoring against us.

But point stands. American States United for Jack.

I really like these videos. It's almost the only content produced by the club where we don't omit all of the mistakes or events that might be perceived negatively. The kid is killing it, and yet there is still so much room for improvement.

Also for some light comic relief at 3:20, somebody is quoting Bobby Boucher's mum from The Waterboy for reasons I don't, but would love to, know.

So apparently some EPL and Championship clubs are interested in Jack and are willing to bid over 5 million. After this GA contract is done with we may need to give him that young DP contract.

Link? Nvm. See the other thread.

He's going to be sold Winter 2018. Enjoy him while you can. He's meant for big pastures.

if he leaves to europe....does that break the whole 5 year living in country rule ?

I'm assuming you're talking about the green card thing to citizenship thing. I think he'd have to come back every 6 months to keep it.

If there's one thing I think Harrison really needs to work on, it's decisiveness.

Every time he gets the ball, he throws a fake. Which is OK as long as it's a means towards an end. For example, I know I'm turning right so I'mma fake left. More often with Harrison, he's throwing a fake to see if the defender makes a move that makes his own decision obvious.

When that doesn't happen, he gets caught in situations that his quick feet can't get him out of, at least at this level.

My brief scan of the internet suggests that just making a brief trip back to the US every 5.9 months would not be enough to prevent the authorities from terminating a green card. The idea of the green card appears to be that you are supposed to be showing intent to settle in the USA permanently. If they think that you're abandoning that idea, they will take steps to revoke your privileges.

That's fair. I know of people who do this and manage to retain a green card, but they're presumably of a much lower profile than Jack would be :)

Yeah, that's the risk. It's pretty unlikely that if he ever got given citizenship and played for the national team, a journalist would fail to spot that he got in through the back door. After they've spotted that, it entirely comes down to the personal inclinations of the journalist as to whether they decide to sit on the info or use it as their opportunity to be the first to a great scoop.

When Manneh was in Vancouver he was actually living in Washington and commuting so he would keep status.
