James Sands

do you think hes good enough to actually start for us... or if we are fully healthy to even come in as a sub?
Irrelevant to your earlier comment. Since returning from injury he's played plenty in that time span or made the lineup. I think he's a pest. I think we have better options. But when he's in I don't think he's the worst player on the field. However, with the international break and PV's tactics he's been used.

hes been used because weve had players out due to injury or intentional duty like you said though. And the reason mikey was originally brought up because i was questioning how much playing time we realistically think Sands would get. I mean if he ends up being a stud im down with him getting 90 minutes a game every game.

Given the US residency program is over and he'll be in 11th grade (right?) next year, is he going to school? Home schooled? Soccer school?

You're acting like I'm crazy but he's played 265 minutes out of a total of 1,440 possible minutes
Point being that he's been considered the #1 option for defensive mid off the bench. So when Herrera was unavailable because of the U20 WC, we got a heavy dose of Mikey. Same when Ring was out for yellow card accumulation. Awuah never plays. So the hope is Sands will soon be that prized backup.

Mickey is one of those guys who is useful in small doses when we need the specific things he can provide. Not so much when we need a guy to start.
I like the new nickname :)

Mickey Moupez is only useful when both teams pretend he is not on the field, like the Orlando game. He's like the last kid picked in a pickup basketball game. Runs around yelling I'm open, but no one will give him the ball.

You don't like Sal? Short for San Antonio Lopez, in honor of where he should be sooner rather than later.
