Jersey Postmatch

You didn't watch their matches, did you? Not an insult, just asking. If you did, I don't think you'd call him a finisher. Far from it. He had to have been about half of xG. I don't mean chance conversion either, literally xG.

Point taken. But he was not in this u20 cycle.

And yeah, all of this is why I don't see Venezuela racing up the world rankings.
Just the USA/Ven match. Lemme guess, Córdoba is a CB scoring off set pieces?

I could have kissed Seth but didn't want to appear too forward since we just met. :tearsofjoy: Had an awesome time and so HAPPY with the win and that we kept a clean sheet. Our supporters was AMAZING! Best chant "Beat the TRAFFIC!" Lovely meeting Seth, Lasker and his cool Mom, Taurus Taurus and his friend. Always a pleasure hanging out with mgarbowski. Thank you Viewfrom226 for organizing a traveling group! And thank you to JGarrettLieb for his ticket!
Nice meeting all and seeing some of you again.

Great win, really felt good beating them convincingly at RBA. Feels much more than 3pts.

We were sitting in the section next to the official away supporters and let me tell you, our supporters ruled the noise and intensity level through out the match. Much more than you can tell on TV (after watching on dvr). The tv networks have a mic in the home stadium supporters sections that feeds to the telecast so you typically hear the "aways" a lot less.

This has nothing to do with what your talking about . I just thought you might like a reminder that Bill Murry's name in Stripes was Winger and it was also the name of a Hair Band in the 80's !:p
Probably your best post ever, given that you mention an all time great movie and an absolutely ridiculous band and at least tangentially related them both to each other and my original post.

I noticed him warming up on the sideline and thought of you!
Thank You !! But as we see said warm up was a waste of time leading to my poem on page 3 of this thread ! I'm surprised with all the Pirlo Haters here only got 3 likes . Midas was included.

And I've realized why Red Bulls aren't spending money like they used to. When I sat in the Manager's Box seats, food and beverages were included similar to Legends. Unlike Legends, alcohol is included. Free beer and everything else, well at least the priced into the ticket.

That or they have shitty attendance numbers. I cannot imagine how much money they lose each season being less than half full??? Do they even sell out their luxury boxes, or are some of them empty?

All true, but the top tier could be: Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Columbia, and Venezuela (Top Half). Venezuela is at the bottom of qualifying right now, but a lot canchange with a midfield rock and a new scorer. It may not be enough for them, with the gap in overall skill too large, but I think Hererra will steady their ship to keep them in games.

I should like this because I am Peruvian. But this is just dreaming. Peru has not gone to a WC since 1982, and Venezuela has never been there. The top tier in South America IS and WILL for the foreseeable future BE Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay. Any of which teams could BTW, get to the final and even win the tournament. That's how freakin tough Conmebol IS. Every other team may do well in a U17 or U20 WC, have a golden generation blahblahblah and still be praying to make it by a miracle. Maybe with the expanded WC it will be a bit less difficult. But Venezuela will still be a huge underdog to get to the WC or to be a top tier South American team when Yangel retires in 18 yrs. IMHO.

I've been thinking about this, and I wouldn't be surprised if NYCFC bought Hererra from MCFC, so they get paid for FFP, and we get Hererra on a 4yr contract as a Young DP - his Cap hit is only $150k as 20yo and $200k from 21-23yo. Hererra gets paid the $ he deserves if he'd gone to Europe, gets to hone his skills in a very physical/fast league with great tutelage from PV, and can then be "promised" a transfer to a big team at the end of his contract - the 4th year of the contract is only so NYCFC can get full use as YDP and then has time to sell without losing on a free. And as a YDP, anywhere from $280-325k is freed up each year for another high quality player or split among multiple. It's a massive win/win for everybody.
Seeing you get all the reps here makes me jealous and sad. Jealous because I shouldn't have toyed with LionNYC LionNYC to challenge his analytical growth and missed the reps. Sad because I'm wondering if there were that many people who weren't seeing this angle.

Yeah, your totally right - I spaced when writing it and was thinking Chile (with Sanchez and Vidal and Puch) and wrote Peru. And I'll defer to you with your knowledge of Comebol - you're way more diehard about them than my cursory knowledge.

You should always toy with LionNYC LionNYC 's analytical growth. For every time he reminds us about his pitchside seats, he gets a cerebral whack. Only fair.

LionNYC LionNYC , we love you and I'm humbly jealous of your seats.
