Khiry Shelton [Forward]

He had started to improve when he got hurt. He's a guy that could have benefitted from like a Bridgeport FC second division affiliate.

I just saw Khiry getting some solo work in training. He might be the secret weapon next year. The fact that he has not been sent away is important. To me, that says that he is valuable and just needs the right work to fill his holes. I'm hoping he steps up and becomes the player we thought he'd be.

I have always been more optimistic about his upside than most. His work off the bench got us several points last year. The question is whether he can develop the consistency and judgment we need from a starter. His time off this season can't help, but if he can get back in the lineup and provide offense off the bench, that would be great.

khiry is a lost cause. i don't think nycfc is the right fit for him at this point. he really hasn't shown hes capable of keeping up at this level. hes ok as a sub but it's not like he wows us. his height and speed are his best attributes. he doesn't know how to utilize either and gets pushed off the ball way to easily for someone his size. not to mention for someone 6'2 or whatever he is, he gets beat in the air.

Last season he averaged a goal or an assist every 90 minutes. There was a stretch where he was our best offensive player for a couple of weeks. Guy is an MLS calibur player.

ahhhh youre the guy who doesnt watch soccer, of course you wouldnt know a good player when you see one. its starting to click now!
good luck to you and watching baseball.

he provided a screenshot. and you said thats watching him play.... lol
I provided a screenshot that backed up his goals+assists/90 minutes. I personally watched all of those goals and assists. I have watched him play......lol

Khiry is no great player. He does have a first touch that is worse than Zardes' and is often quite timid. For his size, he is terrible at winning aerial battles.

But he has shown he can be an impact sub and run at tired legs. He is absolutely an MLS player.

Don't even bother with him. It's like he's only here to read his own posts and enjoy the likes given to him by Joseph Bianco.

ok fine, you sold me on it.

shelton is not good. he has a god awful first touch and is a turnover machine. Again, stats do not always paint the picture of whats actually going on.

I'm a stats guy if there ever was one but I think-as of now- advanced stats in soccer don't work nearly as well as in baseball.

Shelton has quite possibly the worst first touch I've seen in MLS and, yes, he is absolutely the king of dribbling down the field only to turn the ball over.
