Metrocards?

Yes. Metrocards.

Given all the hype around the Supreme Metrocards lately I was reading and trying to figure out how much that stunt cost them, especially since we don't really see that much advertising on the cards.

Then it hit me. Why doesn't NYCFC do this?

It's relatively inexpensive and a perfect way to reach New Yorkers who already use the Subway. Heck you can even write something about taking the train to the stadium for a game. I should be working for a marketing company out there, smh.

It's a cool idea, other teams in the area have done it before, I randomly got an Islanders metro card once sometime last year. I love the fact that unless you are searching for one you're usually surprised when the machine spits it out. I like to picture 100s of NJRB fans having their mornings ruined when their new monthly unlimited metro card spits out and it's covered in NYCFC colors and logos.

My only minor quip with the ad cards is they often remove the swipe direction arrow for some reason. I assume it's just an oversight when they swap the graphics but I imagine that's pretty confusing and frustrating for people new to using a metro card or not familiar enough with the card to know to use the cut corner to orient the swipe direction.

So we could roll out 5 million metrocards, front and back, for about Mix's salary?

Easy!

I wish I wasn't the only one who pulls out my yellow Metrocard and waves it when our opponent receives or should receive a yellow card. We probably have 20k ready to use props in the stadium each game for an easy NYC flavored fan participation tradition.

I remember doing this during the RSL match this year. I still have a lime green metrocard for some reason but the ref saw it, pulled his out of his pocket and gave the RSL player the yellow.

So...any update with this?

Can I get an NYCFC Metrocard to use during the 2018 season?

No update. I said give me time because I had already had the idea to do metrocards but they would be TR ones. It's stupid expensive and something we would do on our own.

The club could and should do this tomorrow. Shoot them an e-mail about it. 2018 is a great year to do it too. 5th anniversary.

Hmm, I though you were going to contact the club about it. I'll certainly make it a point to say something to someone about this.
