Mix Future Thread: Mix Diskerud is close to moving to IFK Goteborg

There is no way to tell what is actually going on but if common sense rules the day, NYCFC is only taking a hit for the difference between his NYCFC contract wages and his Goteborg contract wages. If so, probably the best case (realistic) scenario for the club.

He said he has a future with our team?
The question asked NYC. He has property here. Answer might not have been football related.

Safe to assume that Claudio/PV don't have much attachment to players. See previous players who left on poor terms. A lot of the innaugural season guys, Brandt was unhappy as well and now Mix.
Parting words, OK.

Do you still think you have a future at NYC?
Yes.

WHAT?
You have to read his answer through his eyes and mind. He believes he could have a future with the team, albeit one that may depend on the status of:
A: the coach
B: the GM
C: the salary Cap
D: any other variable that is currently holding him back that could conceivably change in the future.

Yes, he received offers.
No, NYCFC didn't want to loan him within MLS.
Or
Yes, he received offers.
No, he didn't consider taking any of them.

I can't see a reason for NYCFC having any reservations about loaning him within MLS. We'll likely never know but my money would be on option 2.

Well to Mix, Vieira must be the problem. And Vieira's contract expires next year. Will he leave to Europe by then? Or sign a new deal with NYCFC?

In fairness, it's a business. Chris Wingert was the embodiment of what the club and its fans want. Local player who loved being in NY. But he stunk so they let him go.
