Mix To Nycfc! [unconfirmed Rumor]

Good signing until FP gets injured and then the team HAS to loan him to the mothership just because. By all means, "good job lads."

I just want to say, if this happens, I want some credit. Some of us have been pimping him since like page 2 of this thread. (Player rumor thread, I mean)

Also, I offered to have his babies, and I think that's probably a key deal point.

What he like? Genuine question.
Never heard of him.
I dont remember him at the World Cup.

He didn't play. In true NY sports fashion, I hope he does well enough for us not to turn on him.

Tireless work rate. A little light, but has really upped his aggressiveness post-WC with Klinsy playing him a bit as a holding mid.

Pretty strong technically and much more audacious than the typical American player. He is quite thoughtful on and off the ball and would be a great piece alongside other crafty players, as his vision is among the best on the U.S. squad.

Also, he's a fan favorite due to his intelligence, sense of humor, active social media presence and Tolkienian elvish appearance. He's someone whom many of us have clamored for since the beginning given all of these characteristics and knowledge of his prior contract situation. The thought among many here, myself included, is his on and off pitch ability would make him a true face of the franchise, basically being our Derek Jeter. He's good on the pitch, but he also seems to be confident and charming enough to handle the NYC spotlight.

Basically, he's someone who ticks all the boxes that Lampard never could. Young, well-liked, an American (hyphenated, but that's probably even more attractive in NYC) and thin (Zing!!!).

NYCFC is going to have the best hair in the league by far... true Champions League level 'dos. I am predicting a barber from the Lemon Tree as the 3rd DP.
so many mullets

Another free transfer? It is a trend.

I'm very excited about this, provided that it's not a DP deal. I'm afraid it is.
Dude, you have to take happiness when you can.

I'm all:

Yeah. It's old. But I still love it.

Also, I'm betting it's not a DP deal. Probably anywhere from $450-700k per year (or less) depending on length of contract (more $ for a longer deal I'm sure given his age), bought down with allocation money. That's basically double the best guesses of what he was on at Rosenborg.

Seems like a great move if he's not signed as a DP. I'd downgrade it to just a "good" deal if he is a DP, since he's still basically unproven. Young (24) US National Team member. Creative attacking player which fits the profile Reyna said they were looking for. He's exactly the guy who popped into mind when the club opted for the top allocation spot back in September. Although I don't know if that came into play here.

I guess one small downside is that he will likely be gone for a while this season at the Gold Cup. Also his father is a crazy person (http://www.starsandstripesfc.com/2014/8/6/5975881/mix-diskerud-crew) so this isn't really done until it's done.

Promising news though. Nice way to respond after the last few weeks.
