So now the tinfoil hat says that Garber sees that the Yankees are doing well so we need to be the 2nd seed to avoid any other scheduling conflict.

New England gets red card within the first 30 minutes.

the ref can use the new field laid out as an excuse for any tackle done by them

So basically there is no conflict unless NYCFC is the 3 seed and has to host the knockout game 25th/26th and Yankees are in the WS.

Both of those are not far-fetched scenarios.

If that happens...warm up the buses to Hartford. Oh boy.

is that even doable? i heard that after they moved the fencing ...the field will be smaller than YS for a soccer game

I read somewhere that it was the preferred spot if we had to move. Would be subject to availability, of course.

I see that they have some ridiculous event scheduled for Nov 3-5 where they are setting up a 9 hole golf course on the grounds. Not sure what the turnaround time between that and soccer would be, but it can't be good.

Or we can just "give up" our hosting duties and play RBNJ in RBA!

This thread now is pointless. It's obvious now that as long as the Yankees are in the playoffs, NYCFC is not invited.

Houston up 2-0 in the bottom of the 7th. Sweep the Yankees. I hope this curses them.

    I'm a Yankee fan.

Nah. Fuck that. Three games to a sweep. And the Astros are a better team.

So? I’ll take my sports wins where I find them.

Don’t resent the Yankees for letting us be a tenant and needing the space for special events. That’s just silly.

The club to be angry at is NYCFC, not NYY.

They have five days to prep the field for the World Series Game 3 (first home Yankee game) after our 10/22 match. That's two more than it takes convert the field. The club to be angry at is NYY.

Do you really need to have it explained how they can do what they want with their stadium?

Come on. We shouldn’t still be in this situation without a defined escape route. That ain’t on the Yankees. They need to do what is required of them/best for them for their league title.

Asking anything else from any other team is disingenuous.

I don't think having a soccer game five days before the World Series will affect Giradi's bullpen decisions or Aaron Judge only having 2 hits this postseason.

It can easily affect the field conditions... we already know the field conversions do so during the regular seasons. Can you really blame the Yankees for making sure the field is 100% for their championship? Cmon.

Houston up two games to none versus the Yankees. Game 3 on Monday back at Yankee Stadium. I see an early exit for the pinstripes and no reason to have had to move our home game.

I truly believe all our playoff games will be at Yankee Stadium.

    Game 4, 5 PM
    Game 5, 5 PM

Those start times in New York for Games 3 and 4 are jokes. Honestly, have our 10/22 game at Yankee Stadium. Yankees are not winning 2 of out 3 against the Astros.

The drop from the Astros top 2 pitchers to 3 and 4 is substantial. Anything, including a sweep is possible, but nobody should be surprised if the Yankees win 2 of the next 3.
