MLB Playoff Dates - Potential Stadium Conflicts

One thing to keep in mind is that McCullers had been hurt the whole 2nd half of the season, and he was already on more pitches than he had gone through in a very long while. I still think they pulled him too soon (hindsight being 20-20), but that had to have played a part in the manager's thinking.

USMNT doesn't qualify for the World Cup and Yankees are tied 2-2 and the entire US soccer community is going loopy. Columbus went rogue and moving to Austin despite Austin not supporting the move. USL teams are folding up. And we both are and aren't playing in New Jersey.

im not taking that RB guys rumor as serious .....feels like he wants to troll since its he says its unsubstantiated rumor

Yankees up 2-0 through 4 innings.

Ugh, we're not going to have our first playoff game at Yankee Stadium...or Citi Field.

Wait, what? Why would Citi field be booked?

He is the worst kind of troll. He hides behind a mask of objectivity. I had to unfollow his sorry ass a long time ago because his objective journalist schtick was so transparent.

That said, let’s go Yankees!

Playing great right now.

Umm correct me if I’m wrong but the Yankee games at YS in a World Series would be oct 27-29.

If NYCFC finishes 2nd, wouldn’t they play at home in the 2nd leg, November 5th? And therefore they could just play at YS, just prep the field after the Rutgers stupidity.

If they have to play the knockout on either oct 25 or 26, it could be citi field.

If it is the first leg of the ECSF on October 30 or 31, it can be YS - guessing mls would make it oct 31 so we can prep YS.

Yankees are down 0-2 with Game 3 tonight at Yankee Stadium live on FS1 at 7:38 PM.

I think it's going to be an early exit for the Pinstripes.

And Joe Giradi will be fired for not challenging that play in Game 2.
Game 3, 8 PM
Game 4, 5 PM
Game 5, 5 PM

Those start times in New York for Games 3 and 4 are jokes. Honestly, have our 10/22 game at Yankee Stadium. Yankees are not winning 2 of out 3 against the Astros.

Houston up two games to none versus the Yankees. Game 3 on Monday back at Yankee Stadium. I see an early exit for the pinstripes and no reason to have had to move our home game.

I truly believe all our playoff games will be at Yankee Stadium.

Can you please repeatedly predict that NYCFC bombs out of the playoffs?
K thanks.

NYCFC will lose to Columbus on Sunday and likely drop to the 5th seed. We're going to get wrecked in Chicago in the single game knockout. Don't bother caring about this season anymore. Don't bother about the playoffs. We're crashing out. Focus on 2018 when hopefully Villa is healthy again to have another MVP season.

Yankees win Game 6.

That shit can’t be generating too much money. Easy boot. Pay the penalty. No problem.
That kind of depends on this weekend. If we get 32,000 and sell 17 tons of hot dogs and 3 tanker trucks of beer, well sure, no problem. But if there's 11,000 people there and everybody sneaks in bologna sandwiches from home it'll be golf instead of us next time.

Yankee Stadium is hosting Rutgers football on Nov 4, so they previously announced that the playoff game for Nov 5 would be on Nov 1 if we are hosting it.

Now, you'd think you could turn around from Football to Fútbol in 24 hours, but this is the Yankee ground crew we're talking about.

Though depressing, this scenario would be less embarrassing (for the club, for us fans, and for the league) than the club struggling to figure out where we're playing playoff games and us needing to scramble at the last minute for everything.

Hard to get 32,000 when the capacity is only 20,000

Further Update - the below assumes the Yankees make the World Series.

Sunday, Oct 22: Home vs. Columbus
- ALCS Games 6 and 7 are Oct 20 and 21 (Yankees would only host if win AL East and have better record than opponent)
- WS Game 1 is Oct 24 (Yankees host if they have better regular season record than NL opponent)
- No Conflict

- Conflict due to need to work on Yankee Stadium and the field in advance of World Series. Game Relocated to Citi Field.

Wed/Thur, Oct 25/26: First Round Knockout Game (NYC only hosts if finish 3rd or 4th in East)
- WS Games 1 & 2 are Oct 24 & 25 (Yankees host if have better regular season record than NL opponent)
- WS Games 3, 4 & 5 are Oct 27, 28 & 29 (Yankees host if have worse regular season record than NL opponent)
- Conflict with World Series; Citi Field appears to be open.

Mon/Tue, Oct 30/31: Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 1 (NYC only hosts if finish 3rd, 4th or 5th in East)
- WS Games 4 & 5 are Oct 28 & 29 (Yankees host if have worse regular season record than NL opponent)
- Conflict unless game can be moved to Nov 1; Citi Field appears to be open.
- WS Games 6 & 7 are Oct 31 & Nov 1 (Yankees host if have better regular season record than NL opponent)

SunWed, Nov 51: Eastern Conference Semifinals, Game 2 (NYC hosts if finish 1st or 2nd in East)
- WS Game 7 is Nov 1, so no conflict unless substantial delay
- No Conflict

- WS Game 5 is Oct 29; so Yankee Stadium would have 3 days to turn field for this game assuming no rain delay.
- Citi Field begins hosting Stadium Links Golf on November 3, and it is unclear how long they would need to prepare.

Hard to get 32,000 when the capacity is only 20,000
If we can sell that many tickets they'll happily open the upper decks for us. And invite us back. Full capacity is just shy of 42,000.
