MLB Playoff Dates - Potential Stadium Conflicts

Great stuff.

Don't think you need the 11/5 column, unless the point is that we might move a home game back to that date in order to make it work. If it's just an away game, which is suggested by your "if NY finishes 3-6" header, then it doesn't matter.
I left it in because if they finish lower than 3rd there is a chance they would be the lower seeded team in that matchup which means they'd play the second leg at home.

Doesn't the lower seeded team play the 1st leg at home?

Duh you're right. What I should have written is if we're the higher seed my bad.

Also, notice MLS didn't explicitly write that on their website or in their press release. Maybe they'll let teams move it around.

Well we have discussed ad nauseoum here that it would make more sense to make the lower seed travel for the first leg, especially if they just played the knockout match at home. If that's a new wrinkle, it's a good one. But somehow I doubt it.

I agree, but given MLS's "make the rules up as you go along" history I'm leaving all options on the table.

The New York Yankees postseason run just cured a lot of angry football fans.

The doubleheader scheduled for Nov. 4 versus Maryland at Yankee Stadium has been moved to High Point Solutions Stadium, the school announced.

The joint decision between Rutgers and the Yankees was necessary in order to allow a sufficient amount of time to logistically stage the events in Piscataway due to the Yankees' current postseason run.

"We were looking forward to staging this historic event at Yankee Stadium," Director of Athletics Pat Hobbs said. "With two weeks until the date, it was important for us to finalize details that help ensure our fans and our student-athletes have a one-of-a-kind experience. As a result of the Yankees' amazing postseason run, there were operational concerns that called for us to make a decision at this time. It was agreed that moving the game to High Point Solutions Stadium was the best option under the circumstances. We value our continuing partnership with the New York Yankees and will be cheering them on this weekend and hopefully in the World Series."

The Big Ten will announce the start time and television designation for the football game at a later date. The time for wrestling will be released shortly after.

Rutgers was paying big money to play a game at Yankee Stadium under a contract agreed to by former athletics director Julie Hermann.

But Rutgers fans did not respond to the game and it was one of the reasons that season ticket sales were down 16 percent.

Do the Yankees not realize that the last game potential game to be played at Yankee Stadium is 10/29? If it takes 3 days to convert it to soccer, I can imagine they can convert it to football within a week.

Well, hopefully their move out makes our potential 2nd Leg Eastern Conference Finals playoff game available on 11/5.

I actually think this is more of a Rutgers decision, that works out really well for us. No one cared about the Rutgers game from their fanbase, and it allows us to play the conf semi leg on November 5, if necessary.

NYCFC Playoff scheduling as of right now.

Houston up 4-0 in the bottom on the 5th with 2 outs. Rutgers game was booted.

All our playoff games at Yankee Stadium.

Yup YS will be wide open now for our playoff run. What a shitty way to go out.
