Mls Cup Playoffs

With the rate that MLS is expanding I predict that there will be never been a balanced schedule. I would rather see the whole we play during FIFA breaks thing corrected before a balanced schedule.

This is getting off topic, but I agree that we aren't going to see a balanced schedule. Still, I would like to see a longer season. The Premier League goes for 9 months plus 1 week - 42 weeks to play 38 games. We go for 34 weeks to play 34 games, plus another 6 weeks for the playoffs. One thing people don't focus on with our playoff system is that it robs us of regular season games. Still, even with the playoffs our season is 2 weeks shorter than the Premier League. I'd like it if we could start a month or more earlier. Begin the season 6 weeks earlier in late January. Play more games in the south and the Pacific coast. Then, make that up with more games in snowier locales in the summer. Play 36 games in 39 weeks. Then have the 6 week playoffs end with the MLS Cup on Thanksgiving weekend.

Maybe with the establishment of more warm weather teams we can start the season in late February.

Don't think they'll add more games though. Garber stated in an interview once he/the league don't want it to go past 34 games.

Given the FIFA stuff and our winters, it's hard to fit in anything more than 34 games while playing through the summer.

ESPN favoring Columbus to defeat Portland with a 64%-36% split.

I'll be happy for either team, I suppose. Kinda want to see Portland get their first before Seattle to see what they'll do next year for their TIFO against Seattle. :D

thesauerchise thesauerchise picked Columbus to win and I (Mike) picked Portland.

We are welcoming suggestions for our friendly Podcast wager. Best idea will be chosen Saturday afternoon and the winner will receive a Blue City Radio t-shirt.

Quote this thread so I can find your ideas.

Let's get a nice suggestion going here. It will be funny to see Mike have to do something.

Loser wears a Grabavoy jersey to EVERY HOME game next season.
Are we sure this punishment isn't a bit too extreme? Does the loser really have to spend his hard earned money on something as worthless as a Grabavoy Jersey? Lol

Columbus gonna win this IMHO. Tough place to play at home. We were lucky to come away with any points.

The unanswered question about this game: What has Kei Kamara's Chipotle consumption been this week? Has he eaten none because of E. Coli and will that lack of Chipotle affect his game? Has he eaten Chipotle?
